A funny thing happened on the way to the hospital (Now with pictures)
Zane got on the elevator at Vanderbilt without looking because he was messing with his phone. He didn't look up until someone in a wheel chair started talking to him. It was Little Richard who proceeded to compliment him on his coat and then hand him a book and signed picture and tell him, "Jesus loves you, and never forget it".
I cannot stop laughing.

I am for real for real jealous. The man is an icon. I am all about meeting celebrities. But there are some that are just like over the top.
ETA: Also, how is everything? How is his dad?
Is it bad that I find this a little bit heartwarming?
I'm assuming he was all done up in his wig and makeup, yes?
They found a hole the size of a golf ball in his hip where the cancer had eaten it away when they did the surgery. The rest of his bones are cancer free, but we're still waiting on the full body scan to determine which organs are affected. It's definitely in his lungs, and they are worried that it might already be in his brain.
It's looking a little better than it seemed at first, but it's still going to be a matter of time.

I've met him too and also got a signed book, but no photo. It was called "How can I Help?". My cousin got married at the Hilton in Nashville in 09 and I met him there. He was living there after his hip surgery. Apparently he is known to hand out spiritual and self help books. His wig was on crooked and he looked tragic.
I'm also sorry to hear about your FIL.
well a-wop-bop-a-loo-bop-a-lop-bop-bop! i'm not gonna lie, i would have been soo starstruck. awesome story, i hope the experience lightened zane's mood a little given the circumstances of his being at the hospital.

Aw, I think that's really sweet. I'm imagining that Little Richard travels the hospitals of the land, providing comfort and autographed pictures for families worried about their loved ones.

Not weird at all. I almost posted to see if you wanted to do lunch or something, but Zane has had the car going back and forth to the hospital so I don't have any way to get to you.
Understandable. I'd love to meet you and Ethan if you can/need to get away, though.
