If you like dogs and Star Wars, come in
Re: If you like dogs and Star Wars, come in
Really? How many do you have!?
Growing up we adopted a greyhound from the local race track, he was about 4.5 years old when we got him and he was seriously the best dog ever! It was like having another human in the house, he was a big guy, but a total teddy bear.
We have 4. I am head over heels in love with them. All four are ex racers. When I'm away from H and the dogs. H is convinced that I miss them more than him. We or I should say H started with one. He got him before we were married. We weren't even dating. Just friends at the time. He asked me to meet him at the adoption house to pick him up. Then I use to dog sit for him. About a year or two later when married we got a 2nd one and then a 3rd one. The 4th one came along while I was fostering some greyhounds and ended up adopted one.
whoa, you have a whole pack! How neat! That is so nice of you to foster and adopt, they really are the type of breed one can fall in love with. So regal, calm, and loyal!
I'd love to see a pic of yours sometime. Ours was a brindle and I thought he was the ugliest thing I had ever seen the first time I laid eyes on him. This isn't him but he looked like this:
I was expecting one of the light fawn colored ones that look like deer, but we didn't really get a choice since we were on a wait list and went up there the minute they called about an available adoption for us.
I remember walking around the neighborhood and so many people would be staring or would stop and ask us about him, he looked like a horse compared to most dogs since he was one of the bigger ones.
I always said I might get one some day if I have a big enough yard for one to run around in, but sadly our yard is barely enough for our two Aussies so we are already at capacity for now.
I have some pics of them in my profile.
I Totally thought that when I first saw them. I thought to myself " Why are they so skinny?" " They have weird butts"
Out 1st guy is white and light brindle
2nd guy is white and blackish brindle
3rd girl is red fawn
4th guy is all dark brindle
We get stopped too. 2 of our guys were 76 lbs off the track, big guys. The girl and small guy were about 64 lbs off the track. Our girl is a big girl.
