BC question
For those of you using BC I have a question. I am looking at getting on a new BC because I've been having really bad periods with horrible pain and sickness. I have problems with ovarian cysts so I can't get off BC right now. My doctor wants me to get on Mirena.
I wanted to see what your thoughts were. Has anyone tried Mirena? Thoughts/opinions? Or anyone have another one they'd recommend?
Ive been on Nuva ring for almost 4 years now.

I have quite a few coworkers on Mirena right now. Ones that have had kids and ones that have not. They all love it, well, after the initial 'healing' they all love it.
I'm sure that your doctor has told you about some of the side-effects that are the initial cramping and spotting.
I hope that some of the girls on the board with Mirena respond as well.

I've been on Mirena since August and I am really starting to like it. I was having awful breakthrough bleeding before to the point where I only had a few days a month that I wasn't bleeding. I am finally at the point that I really don't have a period and maybe only spot a few days.
Having it put in was not fun but it was manageable. For a few days after that I had some pretty bad cramps but they subsided. I will occasionally get some back cramps but not too often. I really haven't noticed any side effects from it.
