Birth Control and Antibiotics
So I had the crud last week and was on Antibiotics for 6 days. Z pack and Prednisone - took my last pill yesterday.
When can we have sex again? I was worried about the antibiotic and birth control.

If you are going to have sex while taking Antibiotics and BCP's, I would do a back up plan such as having your partner wear a condomn. Taking antibiotics while on BCP make your chances of getting pregnant increase.
Yes that's what I was aksing - how long after you are done taking antibiotics do you have to wait??
well that would be a really long time - because I am on the 3 month pill! haha
maybe we will just wait another week.

Googling got me this, which given the citation seems legit, and seems to suggest that most antibiotics do not, in fact, interfere with the pill. But, as always, consult your doc or pharmacist to be sure.

Each time that I've been on antibiotics, my OBGYN advised my DH and I to use back-up through the rest of the pill pack. Better to be safe, than sorry!
EDIT: I just saw that you're on the 3 month pack. I'd give your doc. a call in the morning to figure things out.
I was always told to wait a week, 7 days is usually enough for the hormone levels to stabilize.
Also, it's not generally the antibiotic that interferes with the pill, but rather it interferes with your digestive system which interferes with pill absorption. So if you are the type to get upset stomach from antibiotics, definitely wait the week out. Thats 7 days, not 6, not 5! I know condoms are no fun, but look at the alternative! :P
