AW: Tonight's photography class
We have to present 5-8 pictures we've previously taken that describe what we enjoy about photography. I enjoy being able to catch a moment and capture it forever. The two things I like taking pictures of most are anything super up close and (the complete opposite of that) landscapes.
Here are the pictures I'm going to present tonight.
The first three of of Portland from my day out with Brie:

Stryker, obviously:
All the rest are from Nantucket

Just wanted to share!

Love these! Thanks for sharing!
These have some really great compositions and leading lines! I love the stories that are being told and the character in the first shot is fantastic.
I can't wait to hear about your class
Blog
Thanks all! I'm more than happy to share my photos here, but I don't want to bore people! We don't have a shooting assignment for a couple of weeks as we're going through history etc right now and next week we're going out to an exhibit during class.
So I presented them last night and I got really good feedback about my composition and my 'eye' for angles. She did notice that I didn't have any people in my pictures and I told her that wasn't my comfort zone. I think that was a bad thing to say since she wants to challenge us so I have a feeling I'll have some people assignments.
Maybe some of the 'local (Boston)' ladies can lend me a baby to do some photo shoots!

2012 Reading Challenge
Personally ... never a bore to see others pictures!
We could start a day where we share some of our latest photos? Or we could do challenges or themes? Anyone on the board could join in ... i know we have a lot of ladies getting into photography that I bet there would be some interest.
Funny that you mention the comment about shooting people! I just wrote a post on my blog about that last night! I am the same way, give me a subject that doesnt breathe and I have a lot of confidence that I can rock the shot (or at least get a decent shot), people on the otherhand, scare the living daylights outta me!
We probably won't be in Maine again until April... but I'm sure we could meet up or something! She's all yours if you want a subject
Jules, I think a day of sharing photography is a great idea! Not to mention anything to keep the board going and alive!
Magda, I'll let you know! I love taking pictures of babies, there seems to be a lot less pressure than adults and they're such fun subjects.
I did a mini shoot of my nephew at halloween with some hats on and some devil ears and it was so fun and cute. We didn't have a good set up, but I like the pictures.
