AW (BR) and a ?

Like always I wanted to stop by and show off my little girl who is not so little anymore.  At her 2 month appointment at the beginning of the month she was 9lbs 15 oz and 23.5 inches and healthy as a horse.

We have orders and are looking to rent a car one way to accommodate E's baby crap until our homegoods get there (we have one vehicle and have no plans to purchase another anytime soon).  Does USAA offer discounts on rentals?  We're only going about 250 miles if it matters.

  • Love the hat - too cute!

USAA offers some discounts for car rentals if that is what you are referring to; check out their website for more information.

  • Awww. She is a sweetiepie.

And to answer your question: Yes/ kind of.

I think that the company that works with USAA is Avis. And you do get some percentage off of the rental. But you will be charged a penalty for going one way and not returning the car to the rental place you took it from. So I don't know how much money you will save. But check it out. I hope that it works out for you guys.

  • She's adorable!

USAA does offer a discount rate.  I talk directly to the rental agency.  They will compare the USAA discount to other offers they have.  You can also search the net for discount codes.  We rented a van when we went to San Antonio.  I found a code for 40% off the listed rate.  When we got there, they had no van.  They upgraded us to a Suburban for the same rate.  I had that Suburban for a week for what equaled out to be more than 60% savings.

  • So I know we're going to do a partial DITY - do you think we'll come out better if we just rent the smallest uhaul then? I just need to be able to bring her bouncer and things like that because she won't nap in the pack n play.  I'm already pretty terrified of disrupting her "schedule" - I let her do her own thing but I encourage her to sleep when she looks tired, etc.  I still have about a month to figure this out but I'm stressed out that we won't have our stuff for a long time and she'll be really angry about it.

  • I would compare the two.  You will probably be better off with a small uhaul.

  • Looks like a Uhaul truck would be $185.  I think that might be our best bet if we can fill it properly.  We'll see.  I definitely don't want to do a full DITY.
