ordering a cake from safeway??
Anyone have any experience ordering from them? Confession: I have never ordered a cake before, so I need some help! 
DH's birthday is Sunday and we are having a pitch-in type get together at his parents house for the game and I was put in charge of getting the cake. If I ordered today, would they be able to even do it by Sunday? Safeway is our closest grocery store and I shop there pretty often so it's convenient. Also, if you have ordered from there....do they have the "whipped cream" type icing or the really thick sugary kind?? Ok...sorry for the random questions!

Ordering cakes-
Grocery stores generally ask for 24-48 hours for a custom cake. They also usually have premaid cakes where the center is empty and they add the writing while you wait. The latter are available first-come, first-serve.
You should have plenty of time to order a cake if you call now. The only issue would be if they have already recieved a lot of orders and have stopped accepting orders for this weekend due to high demand. (A possibility because of play off parties.)
