Re: PG/Mom Check-In
DH was shocked at how much it cost. Once the ILs & my parents offered to split the cost, he settled down and was more pleasurable to go shopping with.
Heather- thanks for adding team blue. They moved my due date back to the 5th. It's not a big deal, but if you're changing anyone else's info, would you mind changing mine?
Well, we came out on Facebook today! We had our NT scan today and it was nice seeing the baby again. At my last appointment they couldn't pick up the heartbeat on the Doppler because of my severely tilted uterus, but we saw and heard it today, so my mind is more at ease.
We got MacKenzie pictures taken this weekend in her big sister outfit as part of our "coming out." She was a monster, but we got some good pictures.

We have decided on our nursery furniture: Baby's Dream, the Renaissance collection w/the solid back.

Planning on going to order it next Sunday, can't wait!
Other than that, doing pretty much the same. I am VERY hungry all the time, it's pretty crazy. And, I am finally in the double digits!
After a long fussy night on Saturday full of cluster feedings and gas pains, last night she slept like an angel from midnight on, and she is still sleeping soundly, 11 hours later! She's obviously eaten and had a few diaper changes duing that time, and even a bath. But now she's sound asleep again. She's 3 weeks tomorrow so this must be the 3 week growth spurt I've read about.

Kennedy is doing great and will be 11 months this week. Just crazy. She's totally given up typical "kid" food, in exchange for some rather strange tastes. Pita bread & hummus, avocado and tacos are among her recent favorites.
Baby #2 is doing great as well. Morning sickness is pretty much gone and I'm eating and craving everything in sight, though I'm still losing weight. I've had some pretty horrendous back pain, and I really was convinced something was wrong, but I saw my Midwife this morning and baby's doing great, and I got to hear the heartbeat again. I can't believe I'm over 12 weeks already!
Evelyn is doing well. She went to the doctor on Friday for a weight check and was 5 pounds! We're still on mostly bottles of pumped breast milk and nursing a couple times a day. She only seems to sleep well if she's tightly swaddled. How long do babies usually like that for?
I'm ok, but having a really hard time. DH went back to work today and I'm so upset about it. I cried all night last night and have been on the verge of tears all day. I feel upset, sad, and/or guilty about the baby and our new life a lot. I know DH is keeping a close eye on me, and I'm hoping this is just baby blues that will pass soon. I'm not sure if things would be different if Evie had been a planned baby, but I feel incredibly overwhelmed with being a mommy. And I hate pumping. I do love my little girl though so I'm trying to focus on that to keep going.

Jennifer- Kennedy seems to like what I eat..lol What did you feed her when you were transitioning from purees to food? I make Charlottes Veggies and Fruits heavier by adding rice or not blending it real smooth. I guess I'm just looking for a good starting point for introducing other stuff (I'm kind of scared she'll choke or something since she has no teeth)
Roses- I swaddled Char till she was 4 months - she would bust out quite often if we didn't swaddle her really tight and at 3 months I kept her arms out since she was rolling over. I can imagine how pumping and nursing would get overwhelming. Everyone pressured me to pump, but they have no idea how much it takes out of you esp with a newborn. I know it can take a little time to adjust to your husband going back to work. Hope it gets a little easier soon.
My girl is so much fun and all giggles. I really love this age. She's clapping all the time, now that she got the hang of it. Singing and dancing is her fave thing and playing with our dog. My FIL came over last Friday to see her and said since she was a 'toddler' now I should go back to work. It really bothered me that he called my 8 month old a toddler already!! I'm kind of sad I am going to start looking for a new job so, I know my time with Charlotte won't be for long. I really think it's going to hard for her not having me around all the time or maybe it'll just be me that'll will have a hard time.
Love that picture. What a cute way to share the news
I LOVE that furniture!! Good choice
I had beta #3 today. I'm anxiously awaiting the results. I also told the nurse I was concerned that my first u/s wouldn't be until 8 1/2 weeks. She said when I get the results of my beta today they will schedule me sooner because of my past loss.
Heather, my EDD is 9.20.12
Kennedy STILL has no teeth! We just kind of dove off the cliff of baby food. She got sick of purees pretty quickly. I slice fruit very thin (apples, pears, etc.) Banana was another one that was easy. We also started with soft stuff like rice, potatoes, and steamed veggies. She loves squash. I just peel it and steam it. Ground turkey, and chicken broken up into small pieces. She loved pasta, and I actually even gave her meatballs and ravioli, and just cut it up real small. One of the other things I started with was pancakes and toast. As long as you break it up real small, she should do fine. Kennedy gagged a few times when she was getting used to new textures, etc. She'll actually still do it from time to time with something new, but my pedi said gagging a little is okay, and as long as you don't give them any real choking hazards (especially untoasted bread) they are usually fine. At this point, Kennedy is eating bread fine, with out toasting, as long as I break it up. I also offered water with meals at the time I switched to regular food from purees.
Both girls are doing well. We have started looking at preschools for DD1 and I think we've found "the one". I'm just hoping we could get in come registration time coz from what other moms are saying, there's a long wait list for this school. DD2, on the other hand, is eating like a champ! I am so glad we decided to do BLW with her. She's doing great with table foods and is eating anything and everything in sight. Also, she's been STTN for a month now. And I am not surprised that AF reared its ugly head today for the 1st time since I got pg with DD2.
On the TTC front, H and I have decided to postpone 3# until DD2 is at least a year old.
All good here. I have my last monthly appointment on Wednesday, then we switch to every two weeks. I'm interested to see what my doc says about baby measuring so big, so we'll see.
For the last 6 months, I have had no interest in sweets whatsoever, which is very unusual for me. Just within the last week or two, I crave sweets like CRAZY. It is such a change! I had a craving some Coldstone ice cream the other night, and H was nice enough to get me some - that ice cream was pretty much the greatest thing I have ever tasted.
H and I spent this weekend organizing the apartment and setting up some more baby furniture, so we've been busy. And then on Friday I'm heading to Florida for my baby shower!

I honestly don't remember how long we swaddled MacKenzie, but really it seemed like forever. I think it was until she started rolling over consistently. It really did save our evenings after a while since she was a terrible sleeper without her swaddle. Swaddlers will be your best friend. I would suggest investing in some if you haven't already.

Tomorrow Im officially one week in my 3rd trimester. I cant believe it!
Passed my glucose test, woot woot!!!
I have gained some weight but still under the limits so thats good I guess hehe.
I started tracking Baby J's kicks as recommended at this stage, and he is definitely an active baby.
Next appointment is next week.
Oh and my baby shower is scheduled on Feb. 26th I can't wait : ) I did my registry last Saturday at Buy Buy Baby and Babies r Us with my bestfriend and DH's sis in law. Wow it was overwhelming but i had a great time.
I totally understand how you feel. I was in tears daily for the first couple weeks after C was born. I was having a hard time adjusting to my new life, and the hormones are crazy. Definitely see your OB if you feel you need to so they can monitor you for PPD, but for me I pulled out of it once C was about 3 weeks old.
I'm sorry, Jamie.
I would say to give it more time, but don't wait too long before seeing a doctor. John was so worried about me having PPD that he kept asking me how I was feeling, which was sweet. I felt really guilty because even though I absolutely loved Zoe, I didn't feel that instant happy bond some people talk about. I think it had something to do with having a c/s for me. I think in a way I missed my old life of just doing what I wanted, when I wanted, too. It all felt so surreal. Although I really wanted kids, Zoe wasn't planned either, so I wonder if we had been actively TTC it would've been different. Who knows, but I love my baby girl more than anything and she makes me incredibly happy now, so hopefully this is just the initial shock of it all (physically and mentally). Evelyn also came early, so that can be a shock as well. Hang in there, and we are here for you if you need anything!
Thank you!!! And congrats on your third beta!! Just over a week until your u/s!
