Moms, spend my money

We were given quite a few gift cards for Cori. Here are my three options of what I could use them for. Tell me what you would spend the money on:

Double stroller - Alex HATES being in the stroller unless we're just taking a walk outside. She will climb out in stores, even knows how to unlatch herself. So, I'm not sure I want to put so much money into this if Alex won't stay in one, but could be a good option to have.

Boba/Ergo carrier - I'm thinking it would either be a double stroller or a carrier. As of now, I'm carrying Cori in the Moby for walks while pushing the jogger. In stores, I have to put Cori''s carseat in a shopping cart while forcing Alex to walk with us and not run away, or bring another person to chase Alex/watch Cori.

Convertable carseat - Just go for the big seat we'll need eventually anyway. We have an infant seat for now, but we'll need to upgrade, so we could just do that now.

Re: Moms, spend my money

  • Between the Ergo/Boba or Convertible car seat. I still use my ergo with Evie out and about and would be nice to wear Cori even when she gets older while you are chasing Alex. We usually use the hip or back hold of our ergo
  • Have you looked at a sit and stand stroller?  This is what we are considering since Charlie doesn't like the stroller too much either.

  • I personally would buy the carrier. It comes in so handy when you have to take both little ones somewhere solo. We never bought a double stroller, and I am glad we didn't because it wouldn't have gotten much use.
  • I vote for the Ergo.  I really like mine.  In addition to just carrying the baby while out, I use it sometimes to help soothe him.  I have been out shopping with him in the stroller and he is screaming like mad, but I put him in the Ergo and in no time he is calm and falls asleep.  Plus for travel, it is a lot easier to pack.

And then I would check into some sort of standing attachment for your current stroller for Alex (or look for a cheapo double on Craigs List).

  • Ergo. Best baby purchase we made.

  • I would probably get a carrier.  I have a Beco carrier from when Kodi was little and have been using it almost daily with Aspen.  It comes in handy for almost every situation.

If you do go with a stroller, I would recommend a sit and stand stroller like the Joovy Caboose.  That way Alex can stand or sit and she can easily hop on and off whenever she chooses.

  • Thanks for the input ladies. It's funny how everyone I know IRL said skip the carrier and go with a stroller, but the opposite here. I'm going to try out the Boba at a local store and see if we like it.

  • If Alex will sit in the cart in the store, I would totally get a carrier and wear Cori. Collin's infant seat was too big to put on the cart so I always put him in the carrier when I went in the store.

I was also thinking the sit/stand stroller might be a good option for Alex and I think it would be the only way we would be able to get Collin in a stroller again.

  • The ERGO is my favorite baby item ever, BUT I would buy the car seat and get the ERGO on sale instead! You can get a new ERGO for 50% off of the babies R us price.

    http://www.kidcrawl.com/

This site is made by babysteals. Moms review all products and recommend other products. They also sell things in the classifieds that they bought from baby or kid steals. Sometimes you can find ergos in there for babysteals price, because they have to sell it for what they bought it for on the website. It is 50% off what you would pay in Babies R Us.

If you go to classifieds and look for Ergo you can see two pink original ones and two blue sports all for under $60. I don't know anything about the sport, but I think they are all great. Full price at babies r us is around $120. You could always go to BRU and try one on to see if you like it and then get one off the classifieds.

Soooo. I'd get the car seat and spend $50 on a new ERGO! :)

  • I'd get the Ergo...It's come in handy while grocery shopping, even if DH if with me. Normally, we would need 2 carts but since I can carry Tessa, it eliminates that :) (Plus, it helps soothe her!)

If you go for the Ergo, make sure you get the newborn Heart2Heart insert as well. Its about $25 (I bought mine on Amazon) and helps hold babies under 5 months at the right height, as well as support their spine.
