Savannah, GA
DH and I are planning to go to Savannah in April. Neither of us have been there. I'll be PG so obviously some things are off limits for me to do but are there any "must-do's" when there?

Where are you staying? Area, not what particular hotel. There's more to do in the downtown/historic area. River St, City Market, trolley tour, ghost tour, Ft Jackson, Ft Pulaksi, Tybee- hit the beach, lighthouse, museum, marine science center
There are a lot of things you can do here. MrsD listed quite a few of them. I know this is an odd thing to suggest, but go visit Boneventure Cemetery. March-May are my favorite times to go. The flowering bushes should still be in bloom. It is absolutely beautiful.
Visit one of the bakeries or take out places and pack a pic nic. Then go sit in Forsyth Park or one of the many squares.
There are so many great places to eat in town, as well. You'll have a great time. Let us know if you have any other questions. MrsD and I are both from Tybee and the Savannah area.
I haven't decided but was thinking about the downtown area. I'm hoping to find a reasaonable hotel there since we'll be staying 5 nights.
Also do you think we can get around without a car? I don't wnat to rent one if I don't have to but maybe just for day trips - I'm guessing I'd need to rent one to go to Tybee Island.
You can get around the downtown area without a car, easily.
There is a shuttle that goes to Tybee, def. check the schedule first.

We rented a car. We definitely didn't need it to get around downtown, though. But I found a good deal on a rental, and when I priced out cab fare to and from the airport, it made sense to get a car. Plus, it was convenient since we ended up going to Tybee.
