Jennrs/ Karisma Resort

I know you and Jake had a great time in Mexico and I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about the resort you stayed at... which one was it?  Did you like the food?  Anything you would change about your trip?  Thanks!!

Re: Jennrs/ Karisma Resort

  • Yo. I stayed at the El Dorado Royal in a Casita suite for our HM and LOVED it. Food was really good. Service was exceptional, ESP in a casita bc you have top priority on dinner reservations and such. Sun and I hung out at the pool bar most of the days. (we stayed within 2 buildings of each other). She had a swim up casita, we didn't. I didn't think one was necessary. They were nice but I felt I had more privacy being on the top of the building. They also have outdoor showers that we loved. :)
  • We went to the same family of resorts for our honeymoon (El Dorado).  Royale is biggest, we went to Seaside which is middle sized, and I know KatieK went to Maroma, which is smaller.

Seriously, the brand is fabulous. We all had exceptional experiences.  We talk/think about going back all the time.

Food at Seaside was EXCEPTIONAL.  No other resort we've ever been to compares at all.  We still talk about it.

Rooms were amazing.  Had an in room jacuzzi, whih we loved.  Shower was huuuuge. Beach was fabulous.  Drinks were great.  Service was great.  Pools were pretty, swim up bars were fun. Some of the regular bars had swings which were fun.

I would go back in a heartbeat.  We hope to in 3-4 years.

  • So much Karisma LOVE on this board. One of the biggest reasons we decided to go was because of the awesome reviews from the girls of June '08 and the reviews on tripadvisor.

We stayed at El Dorado Royale and it was amazing. The food was out of this world and we never had to wait to be seated. The service was impecable and everybody was so friendly and accomodating. The grounds are breathtaking and very well maintained. I cannot wait to go back in three years!

The one think I would change is our room. I realll wish we would've upgraded to a casita. Our room was nice but nothing special. I've heard the casitas ROCK.

Good luck in your decision. You guys are gonna have a blast! And, you deserve this trip!

  • I will echo everyone's sentiments about the Karisma brand. We adored El Dorado Maroma. Everything about it was amazing. The staff, the food, the view, the beach. We LOVED it!!
  • Thanks so much everyone!  I think we have officially decided to forgo the idea of another cruise and to go with a Karisma resort!  We just have no idea how to go about choosing which one... Walt really wants to stay in a casita, but I don't think we can justify the cost.  He heard about the ice cream butler, so we'll see who ends up winning this battle, lol.

My front runners are a swim up suite at Seaside vs. a swim up at Royale.  I have no idea how to choose.
