Friday post

Who has snow?!

How was your week? Any highlights?

Weekend plans?

Re: Friday post

  • Who has snow?! We do... few inches I believe.

How was your week? Any highlights? Biggest highlight of this week was that I actually got more than 2 hrs of sleep last night for the first time in 8+ days. It was glorious.

Weekend plans? Off to visit the ILs- they are heading south for 2 months.

  • We got about 2 inches of fluffy snow.  Not bad.

My week was okay, tiring.  We started doing p90x this week so that has been taking up my nights and my muscles are exhausted.

This weekend I plan to do lots of laundry and watch the Pats game on Sunday.  I also need to go grocery shopping at some point which I should probably do tonight in hopes of avoiding the bread/milk/eggs snowstorm crowd Saturday morning.

  • We got 3-4" of snow. I may throw DD in her snow suit and put her out in it today. She hasn't seen snow in a long time, relatively speaking ;)

Week was pretty good. We've had contractors here all week, and they should finish up today. I love what they've done.

Weekend is just hanging out, maybe going to a yoga class, nothing special.

  • Mesa, I don't envy your pre-STTN-ness. I hope you continue to get some longer stretches.

bb- I've heard p90x is so hard! How are you liking it?

We have a little bit of snow, maybe 2 inches max. Not too much going on this weekend, just continuing to prepare for the move.

Ha, yeah... we had it good for a few months though and then she hit 3 months and it all went downhill. She's been having major gas pain attacks in the middle of the night and was also fighting the swaddle during those points (otherwise, she loves to be swaddled). I ordered the Magic Sleepsuit and it arrived yesterday. I'm not sure I'm convinced that it was magical but it did help her a bit I think.

ETA: bb- DH does the p90x on and off and it kicks his butt. He's never consistent with it though.

  • Yep, a bit of snow here but nothing too bad.

Week flew by.  Had a great date night with DH on Tuesday due to a Groupon we had to use up.  I usually don't buy restaurant Groupons because I find that generally only places that can't get people to come offer them, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one.  Tryst in Arlington, if anyone is curious.

Weekend plans...I need to start cleaning up the house for Chinese New Year.  Also playing in a tournament for a couple of hours on Saturday.  Sunday we have CNY-related plans with my family.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • It's pretty challenging.  This isn't my first time doing strength training, so I am not totally dying, but by the end of each workout I am tired.  Also I usually don't work out for more than 30-40 minutes a night, so 60+ minutes every night is something to get used to.  I do know my limits and listen to myself when I am pushing too hard, so I will do the modifications to moves when I can to save myself a bit.  I'm sure after a few weeks I will have much more endurance.  I enjoyed the yoga workout more than I thought I would.  I never do yoga and it felt nice, and the moves were broken down simply so I was able to figure out what to do.  The worst part for me is the nutrition plan.  I am getting used to eating more protein and drinking protein smoothies, but I do miss having easy meals of pasta and snacking on chips.  I found that some protein bars are almost as good as candy bars (with similar or fewer calories and carbs), so that is filling my chocolate snack cravings.
  • Hi everyone! I haven't been around much. Monday was a holiday for me, then I had an OB appt Tuesday AM and an u/s Thursday AM so the rest of the time has been playing catch up at work and I haven't been able to get on the board at all. Today seems like it will be a more relaxing day.

Who has snow?! We got about 2-3". I heard the town our plowing at 4:30 this morning.

How was your week? Extremely busy at work! Any highlights? The highlight (yet also nerve racking) was having a 3rd anatomy scan. Baby girl was curled up and very low in my pelvis the 1st time so the tech had me come back. Even though she was still pretty much in the same position the tech was able to finish the 2nd time. But the OB wasn't satisfied with the pictures of her heart, specifically the output, and ordered a level 2 u/s at the hospital. I was little nervous, since it was for her heart, but the OB said everything he saw looked good. And the perinatologist confirmed that everything looked good at the scan. It was a more extensive scan and it was great to see baby girl again and get the good news.

Weekend plans? Hopefully registering tomorrow, weather permitting. It doesn't sound like we'll get much snow up by me and in NH where the store is; probably about the same as we got last night. Sunday is the Pats game so I will be on the couch.

  • We have about 4" of snow. More than I expected.
This week... I'm not sure if I told you all... Last week we found out we are having a boy! Woohoo! We ordered the crib & dresser this week.
My plan this weekend was to find a cheap, but attractive, plus comfy, glider/rocker. But... I have an irrational fear of driving when there's snow on the ground. I try really hard to suck it up & drive anyway, but it causes me lots of stress. So... If I can convince myself to drive, that's my plan.
I also need more warm sweaters & the dogs want new beds for their crates. Lots of shopping to do. Damn you, snow!

  • MrsC, I'm glad the follow-up ultrasound looked good.  And jen, yay for a boy! I hope he's doing all right.

I'm not sure what's up now for this weekend. My brother and his fiancee were supposed to stop by tomorrow on their way home from NH, but now he's saying they might not have time.  So I don't know what we'll do instead.  Sunday is the Pats game, so I plan on burning through the next disc of Pretty Little Liars while my husband frets on the couch. I've only made it through one disc so far, but that show is addictive!

    Congratulations!
  • Thanks! We're super excited.
Baby boy is doing great. We also need to do a follow up with our a/s. The Dr said everything looked fine, but they couldn't get a good look at one side of the heart because of the way he was positioned. They weren't concerned though, so we go back in a month.

  • Had to brush off the car this morning, but not to bad with the snow.

Week was good. I taught a professional development workshop on Tuesday and that went well. My class at Salem State had been canceled because of low enrollment, until one student got wind of that... she rallied the troops, brought the course from 2 to 8 registered and petitioned the dean to have the class reinstated, so I had my first class on Wednesday.

Tomorrow I have my early childhood movement and music class to teach and then I'm studying all weekend for my final grad. school class.

  • We most certainly do not have snow! It was 70 today.

We don't have a lot going on this weekend. I am taking it easy because of my cotisone shot yesterday. DH is doing Little Gym duty with the baby tomorrow. I think my foster dog's potential forever home is coming to spend time with him tomorrow before making a final decision on him. Hopefully they will want to come get him Sunday.

That's basically it. We have DH's birthday next weekend then the wedding in Boston the weekend after, so we are taking it easy this weekend.

  • Punky, hope the cortisone shot is doing it's thing and you're feeling great soon.

If you need someone to do shots with you after the wedding (I'd say during, but that might be weird), you know how to find me Wink  I even have a huge bottle of Grey Goose that I need to get rid of and could start infusing it with fruit now, hahaha!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
