Hi everyone, new to this board and have a quick question (I'll give a more thorough background tmrw if you'd like).
Finally left H about 8 months ago and moved to DC from Manhattan, and am just now considering beginning to date again. I've been asked to see a movie (thriller / action), and then grab some ethiopian and drinks in the district, which sounds like lots of fun. There's a slight wrinkle in that the guy is a few...okay...almost 5...years younger than I am, but I'm working on my ageism, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
What I'm struggling with right now is what to wear to this.
My standard go to for movies and low-key dinner is dark wash denim, a pair of fabulous shoes, a cute top, and some nice jewelry.
Given the description of the night, is this acceptable, or is it better that I try and pull out a wrap dress for this occasion?
Many thanks in advance!
Re: New and need a little advice in re: dating
I say just have fun! I wish I could go on a fun date with somone, even if they had no potential.
Also, I would personally go with the denim option - but that's me.
I think your choice of outfits is perfect. Unless you really want to jump the guy, then consider the dress although I don't recommend this plan of attack.
Don't worry about the age. My H is 7 years younger than I am and most people have no idea. He acts older than most of the ones I dated that were 10+ years older than me. It is how he acts and responds to you that is important. Now if he was 21 and you were thinking about getting hitched to him tomorrow that might be a different discussion. Go Have Fun!
