Professional Attire

How much do you spend per year on clothing?

I currently wear scrubs, so my work clothes are cheap.

Another old nestie with a new name.

Re: Professional Attire

  • No idea. I buy in spurts

Are you looking for ideas on where to buy work clothes other than scrubs, or was this just a curiosity question?

  • I mostly buy second hand but like to shop. I think a few hundred dollars a year. I only own a few pieces that I bought specifically for "work clothes". Most of what I own I would wear if I was unemployed.
  • Probably $2,000 just on work clothes and a few hundred more on clothes for outside of work.  I shop twice a year (once in the fall for cool weather clothes and once in the spring to get me through fall) to add a few pieces to update my work wardrobe and usually spend around $1,000 each time.  With where I shop, that is usually just for a couple of jackets, one or two skirts, and maybe four tops.
  • I work in an office and buy a lot of my work clothes from Express and Target.  I pick up things here and there when I need to refresh, but I would say per year I spend several hundred dollars.  I should probably cut down.
