Back from the doctor... TMI

He thinks I may have colitis or ulcerative colitis. For the next 6 weeks I have to take a fiber supplement and laxative to take pressure off my abd. If I still have the same pain in 6 weeks then they're going to do a colonoscopy. Oh this is going to be so much fun... Not!

  • Yeeesh! I hope you don't need a colonoscopy!

They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
  • Well, the good news is (TMI grossness ahead...) that all the fiber and laxatives for 6 weeks will make the colonoscopy prep a LOT easier. That's the worst part of the procedure.
She's crafty - and she's just my type.

I remember this from when XH had to have one done. I'm so not looking forward to that at all! I guess a plus side is that it should work sorta like a detox? Maybe even lose a few lbs?

  • Ugh!  Hope the fiber does the trick!
  • Ugh I had no idea you weren't feeling well.  Hope this works!

  • Yuk. Feeling sick on top of all the other bs you're going through can't be easy, t's and p's and I hope this helps in the long run!

  • I have UC if it ends up being that... I know a lot about it.

  • I'm a bit of a Lurker in general.  But I just wanted to say hang in there.  If you need the colonoscopy, the night before is horrible but the actual procedure is easy and you're so out of it you have no clue what's happening anyway.

I had to have one & it turned out that I do have ulcerative colitis. Good news is that after eventually finding the right med, I'm back to normal and have no symptoms provided I take the medications.  Good luck!

This was the same for me too. It was a STRUGGLE to find a med that worked and it was exhausting but after I finally found one, I have been fine. Luckily, it was a cheaper med that worked for me because some of them are astronomical.
