Anxiety - Aggie and ladies

MrsAggie-

I wanted to say thank you for giving me the courage to go see my pcm and talk about it. She gave me something I can take when I'm having an attack or feel one coming on. I'm sort of glad since I was really hesitant to taking something every day.

To the rest of you - Thank you for not making me feel like a crazy person. This past month (or rather what has now turned into the last two) has been pretty hard. It seems like every time I pass a TV I hear bad news and my heart sinks into my stomach. If this is what it is going to be like for X amount of time, you may see me more often here looking for support and I truly hope that is okay. This time it just feels different and I refuse to let that overwhelm me.

Re: Anxiety - Aggie and ladies

  • Good for you! I'm glad you talked with your dr. Anxiety is a funny thing. It always seems to pop back up when you least expect it. But if learn some techniques that work for you to help calm you down before it gets out if control it really help! It helps me to keep myself moving and to talk to others. When it hits at night I sleep on the couch with the tv on. It doesn't go away for good, but you can have good and bad spells. I went over a year before my most recent spell hit. It also helps to have people who experience it to talk to. I try talking to my H but he doesn't quite understand. But my best friend deals with it and I can vent to her about it which it nice. Its a battle to not let it run your life, and you'll have good and bad days but it's something you learn to cope with. If you ever need to talk send me a PM!

  • I finally replied to you on FB! Sorry, we've been moving halfway across the country all week! And I'm glad you sought out help, I put it off for two years after deployment when finally it bit me in the ass and I ended up in the hospital. Anxiety is not a fun thing.

  • I'm so glad you found something that works for you!! I swear I tried everything from cutting out caffeine, eating healthier, working out, not drinking alcohol, showering with classical music before bed, to deep breathing. My anxiety was still incapacitating. I tried a few different meds before I found something. I'm always available to talk for anything :)
