C-mo/baby wearing moms

Caitlyn-I know you mentioned loving using a sling for Wyatt-did you nurse in it? I'm looking for something to breastfeed in and a friend was raving about her maya sling.

Any other baby wearing gear suggestings for bfing? I have a moby and it's just too much fabric to worry about when I'm running out with both kids and B won't be in the boba for a bit.

  • I love the Ergo, but I never breastfed in it.  Although, I have read that you can.  I also love that I used it from the time she was a newborn and I am still using it!

  • I have a maya wrap and I have nursed in it once at the Omaha zoo.  It was really easy and comfortable.

We have a boba, which is the same concept as the ergo, and I agree, it rocks! I wore A in it until I was 32 weeks pregnant and it was really comfortable. For B it's not very infant BF friendly, plus she really likes a cross hold for nursing right now.

How is the sizing? I'm torn about what size to order with the maya-my height puts me in a large but my shirt size puts me in a small...

  • I'm not sure what size mine is.  I would probably go more with your height just because you can adjust the width of it.  I bought mine second hand.

  • I have a sling, not a maya but same concept. I used it every Sunday to wear him at church it was great because no one knew whether he was sleeping, snuggling, or nursing. The fabric tail also an awesome cover while nursing. I also have a mei tai that i nursed him in using the cradle position but not until he was a bit older and it wasn't nearly as easy as the sling.

  • I'm not familiar with the Maya, but it looks a lot like a Ring Sling, which I've heard are great for nursing in.

I have a Moby (which I love, but rarely use because it's such a PITA to tie on) and a Snuggli that I often use when grocery shopping now that she is a bit bigger.  I've never tried to nurse in anything though.

I was going to mention the boba because I have several friends that really like that one, so I planned to get it as well.

  • I have a 7 slings one and it has been a total lifesaver. In not sure if they are meant to be nursed in, but I have nursed Wyatt in it before. It's probably not as convenient as others for that purpose... I found that I couldn't use it as much until he was big enough to sit comfortably on my hip and strong enough that I wasn't top worried about him flipping out of it.

  • I have way too many carriers lol! I have a moby ring sling ergo and boba. I have nursed in all but the moby with no issues. The new bobas have new features for younger babies as well but right now I feel like the ergo is a better fit for me. I am still trying to find the right adj for me. I used the ring sling thE most when Brin was little and we went out.

  • I love our moby, but I agree that it's a total hassle to tie on.  Has anyone tried the Beco Gemini?  I've heard great things about it and am thinking about buying one.  I haven't been able to get anything but the Moby to work comfortably and I'm not sure how I'd be able to breastfeed in it.
