Belize
My hubby and I are planning a trip in April and are trying to decide where to go. We want nice beaches and resorts with some adventure options. Has anyone been to Belize? What are the pros/cons? Where did you go? How does it compare to Costa Rica or Hawaii?

we stayed at the victoria house on ambergris caye which was amazing
the waster and divng are incredible.
i liked it much better than CR
We went there in March and stayed at Xanadu on Ambergris Caye, which was amazing. I like Costa Rica better but Belize has some great things too. Here are some comparisons:
- Food: Belize is more seafood, a lot less fruits and veggies like in CR. Since it's an island made of coral sand, they don't grow much and it's expensive to import. I'm a vegetarian (no fish) so it was hard for me.
- Price: Ambergris was more expensive.
- Snorkling/beach - Belize wins here. AMAZING underwater wonderland.
- Wildlife - not much on the island like in CR.
- People - very friendly at both!
- Getting around: Cheap in both.. if you go to Ambergris, take a small plane.. the water taxi SUCKS and isn't much cheaper.
