It was just Christmas and Ella has more clothes than we can handle through like 4T due to hand-me-downs.We have a small house and she has tons of books (thank you teacher Grandma), walk behind toys, a ball pit, etc.
So moms and others, what should I say when people ask "What does Ella want for her birthday?" And yes I've tried "diapers and wipes."
Is it out of line for me to say, "She wants a new TV for the living room?" lol

Re: First Bday Gift Ideas?
Augh, thats a hard one! Seeing from experience with Landon, people will still give you toys and clothes even if you don't need them. Ella is going to be spoiled (and your house will be fuller than ever!!).
Especially since at 1 they don't fully understand gifts, I always give money with a note in the card that says " please ask your mom and dad to put this in your eduction fund".
I don't really know how you could "tactfully" ask for money though....
So no TV?
Ok, ok...money for college is a great idea!

I was thinking savings bonds, but I guess you can't really "ask for money." What about starting up a collection of music or movies for her (even if she may not enjoy them now...I'm thinking a Disney collection)? I love giving bath toys, but not sure if you're already overloaded with those.
I was going to say savings bonds, too. That's what my Grandma would do for us every birthday for about the first 10 years of our life. That was a nice chunk of change when I got to college.
The movie collection is a great idea. You don't outgrow movies!
