I found an awesome kitchen cabinet online (NL version of Ebay). So today DH and I went to the seller (it was far away) to check it out in person. It was extremely reasonably priced (almost cheap) for that kind of cabinet.
When we got there and saw it, it turned out to be HUGE. Despite the fact that it had dimensions stated, I thought it was smaller. We measured it and figured it should fit, after all, I recalled paperwork and our contractor stating our ceiling was at 2.45 m height. The cabinet is 2.40, the diagonal is 2.45, so it should work exactly.
Apparently the ceiling height is 2.45 without the floor heating and marble tiles. The ceiling is 2.40 high.
Oops!
We're going to have to kinda disassemble the very well built cabinet before we can place it. (The pro is, it'll look awesome, since it'll reach the ceiling, so if we can make it work, it'll be super super awesome!)

Re: uh-oh, hope I can make this work...
I am so looking forward to pictures of this cabinet awesomeness once it is in place.
Fingers crossed that it fits in.
We basically need to live in our apartment the life of our sofa or leave it here when we move. It took a lot of lifting and twisting to get it in. And no ones sure we will be able to get it out.

lol, to get out sofa in, we actually had to remove a window. It should've fit, however the previous owners apparently moved a door when the house was built, so suddenly to get anything into our 2nd floor living room, stuff needs to either go through the windows, or make a really sharp turn on the top of the stairs. Where the door was supposed to be, there is a floor-to-ceiling safety glass window, so we pulled that one out to get the sofa in. One day we'll move the door back to where it's supposed to be to make life easier.
And Faye, I'll definitely PiP when it's placed. The pics that were on the website have already been deleted, so I can't show the cabinet awesomeness just yet.

We also have a problematic sofa. When we moved in, they tried every angle to fit it into our (very large) elevator, and it was just a few inches too big. Eventually they gave up and used the stairs. Then when we moved out, I told the movers that it wouldn't fit in the elevator. They wouldn't believe me. And after 30 minutes of struggling with it (and scraping paint marks onto the edges) they finally took it down the stairs. I so wished I knew how to say "I told you so" in Norwegian.
