About my feet?? Its 2am and I'm in bed hopped up on painkillers and wishing my dad was handy enough to have wire cutters in the house so I could get rid of these problem toes once and for all.
I have Raunauds, a circulatory syndrome where my feet get super cold and numb easily. Used to be on meds for it but stopped them years ago. Yesterday I had an attack so bad that when the blood came back into my feet it pooled, my feet swelled and I was up all night in excruciating pain. The swelling did not go down so today I went to the doc and she put me back on meds (Norvasc for those medically inclined), gave me pain meds so I can sleep and said if the swelling doesn't go down in 24 hrs to go to the ER.
The swelling is feeling better (no longer feel like sausages but still swollen) but the pain at night is so bad that I had to take 2 Vicoden (and I never even take Tylenol for headaches). Now I'm itchy from the pain killers and my toes still hurt and I really hope the swelling goes down because I have a date that I would much rather go on tomorrow instead of spending the night in the ER. Wahhhh!
Any get better toe vibes would be appreciated!
Re: NSOR: Can I whine for a minute? Vibes too?
Foot problems are the suck. I'm so sorry.

MCC, first of all, I want to thank you for your response to my post yesterday about my cousin living with me. You are right about feeling like I am going backwards, that is so much an underlying issue with this whole situation. I need to work on getting past that, so thanks for "getting" it!
Okay, so your foot is no laughing matter, and I am so sorry you are being awoken by it! Do you get foot cramps too, a lot? Let me tell you a story. I found out (through amputation, gasp!) that I have raynauds phenomenon. I went in for surgery for hammertoes (HATE that name) and had surgery on 4 toes. Well, because of my raynauds (poor circulation), and the pins inserted, it cut off blood flow to my toes. I had to have two amputated (should have been all four) but because I was able to get in to hyperbaric treatment, 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, I was able to save two. At 33, this was extremely scary for me, and my whole foot was actually at risk. I am not diabetic, and have never smoked, but they didn't diagnose my raynauds and went ahead with the surgery! I still have extreme sensitivity to the cold, and totally know your pain. My hands and feet are always cold, it sucks!
I hope that today goes well for you! I just wanted you to know that I feel your pain. I am glad that you are back on the medication. My doctor told me that he could put me on medication for it, but that the side effects are sometimes worse than the symptoms themself! Can I ask what made you go off the meds initially?
Hope I didn't freak you out with TMI, I am still dealing with this as well. I take a lot of pride in my appearance, and this has been so hard for me emotionally to deal with. It will be 2 years ago in March that I went in for the surgery. I am going on my first cruise since, in March, and am scared to death on how I will hide the fact that I am missing two toes:(
