If you've been to Provence, please come in!

I am renting a house at the end of March-beginning of April.  I have most of my itinerary planned (using train transportation) but I want to know....

What are my "must-see, must-do"s?  What places did you especiall love?

  • What are your interests?  What do you already have planned?  I spent 4 months in Provence, but there is a ton to see and depending on your interests what is a must-see for you might be something I leave off the list without knowing that.

Just gimme your list; I like everything! Wink

We've planned our days around the market days!   We like to see anything, but nothing overly physically exertive...we're old!

  • In Provence, my favorite towns were Les-Baux-de-Provence, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Roussillon, Vaison la Romaine, Seguret, and Gigondas. I also loved seing the Pont du Gard, the Arles Saturday market, and the Abbey Notre-Dame de Senanque.

I have two entries in my travel blog on Provence:

  • If you enjoy wine, you will be in the Rhone, and you can visit wineries in Gigondas, Vacqueras, and Chateauneuf-du-Pape.  Also, a favorite was visiting Valrhona, one of the best chocolate brands in the world (in Tain-L'Hermitage).  We could smell the chocolate as we drove up, and the store next to the chocolate factory is absolutely amazing - you can taste everything they sell (they have bowls sitting in front of the boxes where you can help yourself to samples), and with purchase they threw in a substantial amount of chocolate for free.
