Update :)

The meds are slowing down contractions, they took the babies off of continuous monitoring so now I only have to do it twice a day for 20(ish) minutes. I'm much more comfortable without them coming in every 5 minutes to readjust the monitors! I still have the cxn monitor and feet compression things on but it's not too bad.

We will be here until we deliver, which my OB figures will be this week. Every day counts so the longer the better but he doesn't think my cervix will hold out too long. I should get to move to a high risk room (rather than L&D) this evening or tomorrow and THEN I can see Nolan! :)

Baby A is breech and Baby B is transverse so it's a definite c-section. (Terrified!) I'm getting the antibiotics for strep B just in case, as the results won't be in until tomorrow. Overall, I feel a lot better. I am still feeling contractions but they are a 2/10 on the pain scale. I'm bedridden with bathroom privildges but at least I can get up every couple hours. The reason we can't go home (assuming cxns slowed down enough) is that with a breech presentation, they are afraid if my water broke the cord could prolapse and that would be an emergency... aka... better off here.

I think that's about it for now. I can't believe they're going to be here soon!!

Re: Update :)

  • Hope it all goes well for you. I'll be thinking about your family.
  • I know a c-section isn't what you wanted but at least you have sometime now to prepare.  And it will be OK, just ask lots of questions about what is going on and what will happen that might help you prepare and not be so scared.

  • Exciting and scary I'm sure. T&P that everything goes well

  • Wow! I know you're afraid of the c-section but it's really not that bad I promise. The recovery from my attempt at a vaginal delivery was much longer than my c-section recovery. I'm glad they are being cautious and keeping a close eye on the girls. Hope you get to see Nolan soon!

Still sending T&P of course. <3

  • Wow!  Crazy.  Exciting and scary indeed.  As much as I'm sure it sucks to not be able to see Nolan (yet) try to enjoy the enforced down time  Relax even if you aren't able to sleep.  Enjoy that you're responsible only to yourself :)  The best thing you can do for that girls is.............nothing! :)

    T&P and keep us updated.

  • I just sent you a message on FB and then saw this update... Haha!  Anyway, I know the circumstances aren't exactly what you were hoping for, but how exciting is it that you're going to get to meet your little girls soon!?!  Of course, I'm sending you the best wishes that they'll be able to wait as long as possible, but whenever they do come, I'm sure all will be fine.  Lots of luck, Tiff.  Hopefully you'll be able to relax until they're here.  Being able to see Nolan will be comforting, too, I'm sure.

    Eeee!  So exciting!

  • T&Ps.  Definitely take the time to RELAX! After those girls get here, you won't be able to for a while.
  • I'm so glad that you're still pregnant and those little girls are still housing inside. Hooray for no more continouous monitoring. You're in the safest place, as hard as it is to be away from Nolan while you're there. Relax and enjoy the down time now, since it seems like it'll be baby time sooner than later. Thoughts, prayers, and best wishes for you and your girls!

  • Tiff, so glad to hear that you are feeling better and the meds are working!  Although it stinks that you will be there until delivery, I agree with you that its better to be there so no emergencies ensue. And yay to meeting baby girls soon! If you want to deliver on Tuesday, I would share a birthday with the girls...I would LOVE that update text:)

So glad you will see Nolan either tonight or tomorrow. I can only imagine how much you are missing him, although I am sure he is in great hands:)

Definitely relax as much as possible (at the hospital, nearly impossible!) and you have some time to mentally prepare more for the c-section.

Hang in there, mama! You are doing an amazing job!!

  • So happy they are still in! And that you are making progress to be able to see Nolan soon. Relax as much as possible and hopefully find something good on tv :)
  • So glad things are going better!  You have been in our thoughts over here across town!

  • Wow, amazing how quickly things can change with a pregnancy. Two days ago, you were just living your life as best you could in discomfort, and now you may only be days away from meeting your girls.

Hang in there! I'm sure all will turn out well in the end.

  • How exciting that you get to meet your girls soon, but scary at the same time.  Get lots of rest and try to relax.  I'll be thinking about you :)

  • Yay for good news about your contractions & the girls hopefully holding off a bit longer :)  Glad that you'll be able to see Nolan soon too.  Sending thoughts & prayers your way that the girls stay put for a little bit longer for you.... rest up while you can!
  • I'm glad that you called and went ot L&D last night!! Sorry that this means you'll be in the hospital until the twins make their appearance. T&P that they bake just a little bit longer, and you can get to see Nolan soon! Hopefully you won't get too bored in the hospital. Also lots of prayers for a smooth delivery. Ask as many questions about the c/s as possible!!
