DH and I are on the couch, watching tv when I hear a loud knock. I look at DH and he's surprised, too, because we weren't expecting anyone. I look out the peephole and don't see anyone...so I open the door. Nobody there.
I'm about the close the door when I see a white envelope peeking out of the corner of my welcome mat. So I grab it and see it's addressed to Apt. 91.
It's some letter that looks like a kid wrote it and it says:
Dear people of Apt. 91,
I know who stole your wedding gift. They live in Apt. 85. I saw them take it and throw the rest in the bushes. You are welcome. Sorry if they threw it away. I wish the best for you that you find them.

I KNOW the guy in 85...it's the same guy that approached me one night and told me he had seen my sign and that if I ever needed him to, he'd be willing to take in my package until I got home so nobody steals it.
The guy also has kids, so I'm wondering if one of them knew what happened and felt bad and left me the note.
It's so strange....I shared the note with another guy who lives a few apartments away and had a package stolen. He was really glad I did and said the guy from 85 is pretty rude to him.
This whole situation has been beyond WEIRD.
Re: Whoa, the stolen package saga continues....
Right? I feel like the worst detective ever....the guy who offers to watch your packages? That should have been a giveaway that he is the bad guy!
*Disclaimer*
I realize this note doesn't mean the guy did it, however I will be taking this note very seriously.
Why wouldn't the person who left the note just tell you? I guess they don't want to deal with the confrontation.
My brother and SIL had a wedding quilt stolen from the laundry room of their first place. It even had their names and wedding date on it. They put a note up asking whoever took it to return it anonymous and just leave it at their door.
Like I said, it looks like a kid wrote it, so maybe that's why?
The whole thing is weird. I'm ready to move...only 11 more months left on our lease!
In the study with the candlestick
It all makes sense now!
Definitely bizarre!
Wow, really weird.
I also kind of wonder if one of the kids from apt 85 stole it (not the guy who offered to watch your packages) and a different kid wrote the note.

I wondered this too. It seems a little odd that someone would anonymously write the note. Then again, I can kind of understand not wanting to get involved in neighborhood drama also.
Either way, it sucks that some assh0le stole your stuff.
I hadn't even thought of that.
Anyway, are you going to confront the people in apt 85?

I think I'm going to mention it to the guy. DH thinks I should go to the office, but what are they going to do? They didn't seem very concerned last time.
