For those who have sewn a diaper bag
I am drawing up a pattern for a diaper bag, and would like the shell of it to be made out of dark denim. Is this a wise choice? Any downsides to using a diaper made made out of denim?
Re: For those who have sewn a diaper bag
The only downside I can think of is that it requires a slightly bigger needle, and heavier duty thread, so if you have a smaller sewing machine is can be somewhat more difficult.
Depending on what your lining is going to be (like if you intended to use laminated fabric or plastic-backed), it could be a massively thick sandwich to get through 2 layered sandwiches for each of the seam.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I agree with the PP. But when I made mine, I used fusible fleece to give the bag structure and that was a very thick seam by the time it got put all together too.
So choose interfacing carefully.
