"No Calls" Listing
Quite a few jobs I've applied for list "No calls about this job" or "No calls please".
I've never called to follow up my application in these situations. Fast forward to today. I applied for my dream job. It says no calls, but I will be crushed if I don't make it to an interview. Is it acceptable to call and follow up my application in a week?
I do not want to hurt my chances by messing up here.
Re: "No Calls" Listing
Unacceptable.
If they say no calls, don't call. If you do, they may disqualify you for your inability to follow directions.

I agree. No calls means no calls.

Good luck!
Also, all the jobs I applied to recently and interview with told me they received several hundred applications/resumes. It's tough...
I also find that really frustrating! It seems like all these applications you put out just disappear into cyberspace with no way for you to follow up!
But still, I wouldn't call. I understand that "no call" often means that they are replacing the current person holding the position and wouldn't want them to know they are looking for someone to replace them!
That's interesting to know. Thanks, I had not thought of this. It's always easier to comply with rules when there's a logical reason.
Then you darn well better not blatantly disregard the employers wishes.
One of the reasons I have my job now is because I 'followed up' with emails and phone calls. My boss admired my persistence and tenacity. However it is a Sales position so perhaps that is different. I would consider breaking the rule in my line of work.
