Happy Weekend

I've been slacking with the weekend posts.

Yesterday we watched Moneyball with my brother and his wife. The movie was really slow moving and then ended kind of abruptly in my opinion.

Today Myles and I are having PJ day, it's our Sunday thing we do. No getting dressed just PJs, books, toys, and lots of snuggles. I hope when he's older he'll still want to do it with me.

Sully has been such a great helper lately. Myles was fussing in his crib while I was in the shower and Sully started barking at the bathroom door (he rarely barks) so I jump out of the shower and he starts running to Myles' room. There's Myles awake, giggling at the sight of a frazzled mommy. Apparently Sully thinks he's Lassie.

Re: Happy Weekend

  • Sully is such a good big brother!

Josh and I liked Moneyball... Probably because we're such baseball/math nerds. My friend thought the same thing as you.

We went shopping last night, and Josh surprised me by buying me a new pair of running shoes. I have decided that I want to do the Disney Princess half marathon in February 2013, so I have been running the past couple weeks... I hate it now. I am waiting for it to be something I look forward to.

  • Sully is so sweet!

Yesterday was a do nothing day. Just cleaning and playing. I agree with you MO I hope my boys still want to do those days when they are older. Today we are going to the new house to meet with our contractor to pick some stuff out. I am excited about it. I always get excited when we go to the new house.

  • It has been a low key weekend here. We grocery shopped yesterday and I corrected a few papers since we have in-service all day tomorrow that my committee is running, so I won't get anything done then.
This morning I made pancakes for breakfast, started some laundry, and finished some grading. I am really frustrated with some of my kids. I have some very bright kids that just aren't doing anything lately and I can't seem to get through to them. They are being extremely apathetic in all their classes and I don't know what to do. Ugh...I hate failing them, but they literally are doing no work.
My afternoon plan is to do some reading, and then make junk food (nachos and pizza rolls) and watch football with Ed.

  • Yesterday was one of those fantastic lazy Saturdays. I slept for 12 hours Friday night (amazing), woke up to a little early morning yoga, made crepes and bacon for breakfast and then puttered around in the morning getting laundry done and whatnot. I passed out on the couch after lunch, while watching PBS cooking shows and we finished the rest of Downton Abbey (season 1) and caught up on the two episodes we'd missed of season 2 - all over pizza from this new online-only deep dish place. The thing freaking weighed 3 lbs! It was soooo good. (ringy - I don't know what their delivery range is, but check out Parlour Deep Dish)

Today is the usual cleaning, grocery shopping and prepping for our lunar New Year celebration tomorrow.

  • Happy weekend, ladies.

That's so cute, MO.  Sully is a good big brother.

I worked yesterday, then Lee and I watched Open Range (our favorite movie - we would have been the Kevin Costner and Annette Bening characters 125 years ago) and enjoyed some garlic cheddar chicken (thank you Pinterest for a great recipe).

This morning we went to pick up another cord of firewood from a friend, and since it's very windy and cold out we will probably stay in and light a fire, enjoy some football, and finish up some laundry and stuff.  Also, since I'm already 3 beers in I'm not inclined to get too ambitious outside the house.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Hello all!

    Awww....Sully is so adorable.

Yesterday was pretty low key.  I got in a run and then went to my friends house and we just talked and hung out.  I love catching up with her.

Today I hit the gym to do the elliptical and bike and my aunt and uncle just left after coming over to see our new house.  The ILs invited us over for dinner tonight so we're going over there in a few hours.

    Back to work tomorrow.

  • C and I are having a lazy weekend.  I got asked to go into work but C begged me not to go, so I didn't.  We sat around watching tv and I painted my nails.  We went to a birthday party for a C's best friends wife. We partied like we were all 21 again, it was fun.

Today is homework and another lazy day.  I need to find my keys and clean my apartment too.
