It is cold out so I want to plan a vacation!
I think we are going to try to go to the UW vs. LSU game at the beginning of september. I figure we will drive to NOLA as well. Any other Dawg fans going to try? It will be HOT but I am excited...
Re: It is cold out so I want to plan a vacation!
I was going to go, until friends of our decided to get married that same day. Boo. But I mean, yay for marriage - it just sucks they're not Husky fans (because true Husky fans would have planned around a game like that).
If you go, DH loves the Royal Sonesta in the French Quarter for a hotel - we're going in March so I'd be happy to send you any advice I have after our trip.
I have a rule that I never want my life to not have a big fun trip to look forward to, so when I was on vacay last week I was frantically planning our summer trip so that I wouldn't come home and be all sad. I say plan away and have a blast in NOLA!
Recs/reviews would be awesome! I don't understand this getting married during football season. People are crazy!
Neither do I. If you have to do that... at least pick a bye week? But the groom went to Harvard so they're not really known for football, so maybe he didn't think about how this would affect everyone else who was not smart enough to get into Harvard (like me).

jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
I think therickson probably just means from Baton Rouge (which is where LSU is located). I think that distance is under 100 miles, so it probably wouldn't be too bad.
I agree, a cross-country road trip would be miserable, especially in early September when most of the area you'd traverse would be very hot.
ETA: The UW / LSU game is obviously at LSU; I re-read therickson's original post and if you didn't realize the game was in Louisiana, you might find her statement a little confusing.

Yeah, the game is near NOLA, as LSU is in Baton Rouge (I assumed it was in NOLA, too, for the longest time until a friend who lives there corrected me). I think it's like, 80 or so miles away. So I'm assuming therickson means fly to Louisiana, go to Baton Rouge, and then drive to NOLA. NOLA is New Orleans, but maybe I'm wrong and therickson is planning to drive.
At which point in time, I would tell her she's gone mad from the weather.
I am most definitely flying to Baton Rouge and then driving to New Orleans! That is way to long of a drive for me.
Everyone is supposed to just follow my thoughts and know what they mean... Right?
Fun idea!
We finally booked our tickets to Hawaii a few days ago. We also decided to pay the extra 45 dollars for travel insurance. We decided it would be worth it just in case!
9/8 - Sat in BR. Not sure if we would hit up NOLA before or after.
