Vacation

We really want to go on vacation around august and we have NO IDEA where to go. I've looked at tons of places in mexico. I've been looking at groupon and living social. I just want warm and a beach and relatively cheap (under $1500) for 4-7 nights. A lot of mexico ones are around $3000. Where would you ladies recommend??

I don't have experience with these living social trips. Did you look around for reviews online? Just to make sure there isn't some hidden fee or something? I like the look of the first one better. I have been to cancun twice already (both times in college) and it is way too college/party for me. I think you would enjoy the Dominican a lot better

Maybe keep an eye out for Sandals sales as well.

H and I just booked 5 nights at the all inclusive Grand Sunset Princess which is an hour south of Cancun for $1400. We got their top of the line room and the platinum upgrade which gives you a few extras (reserved spot on the beach, your own butler, premium alchol and a private dinner). This price didn't include airfare and we are going in April but it may be cheaper in August since that's not their high tourist season. Look on Bookit.com. I would also check the weather averages for August it may be super hot.

Where are you flying into? Cancun? Then driving?

Yes we are flying into Cancun and taking a shuttle down. It's $99 roundtrip for 2 people for the shuttle. Think we booked it through Bestday.com?? I can double check the name it's who the hotel recommended. We booked the platinum room. The laguna villas looked nice too but I read a few bad reviews about bugs and being close to the lagoon, which makes sense.. I can let you know how the resort is in April! The hotel looks awesome, 13 swimming pools and a gorgeous beach. I stayed close to this resort a few years ago and it's way more relaxed than Cancun. Bookit.com has a good cancellation policy too. I'm not sure how much airfare is because we are using miles.

I'm so jealous. You're so lucky to be able to go on a vacation. We're barely making it paycheck to paycheck. I've never really taken a vacation to someplace like where you're thinking of going. I like the looks of the second one to the mexican caribbean. That would be a dream for me. Maybe one day...
