Re: Where are you in the process? (poll)
Do you have a home to sell? Yes, and it is sold! We close at the end of the month, on the same day that we close on our new house.
Where are you in the buying process? All paperwork, inspections and financing are complete- just waiting for closing day!
What are the non-negotiable things you're looking for in a new home? We were only considering homes with 4+ bedrooms, a neighborhood or very slow street, and 2+ bathrooms.
We put our house on the market September 26, 2011. It sold in about 4 weeks and our closing was December 20, 2011.
We shopped for homes between October 1st until Thanksgiving Weekend and put a deposit on a lot to build a new home with a local builder.
We selected all our options at the design center and all was finalized ten days ago. They are awaiting our city permits and the next step is our pre-build meeting with our building super.. The team will pour the slab by the end of February and we should be moving in sometime in April.
Counting.the.minutes.
ETA: 4 Bedrooms (1 will be an office), 2.5 baths, open floor plan, 2000 SF. We are also planning to install a pool directly following our closing on the house.
We sold our home and have been looking for a place to live for years. We are still looking and are hoping to buy by the end of the year.
Our requirements: At least 3000 sq. ft, close to or over 1/2 an acre lot (hard to find in Vegas), no cookie cutter homes (also hard to find). Schools are important but not a deal breaker.
Nope, first time home buyer. Just have to coordinate finding a house/closing around when our lease is up.
We have been looking online and plan to meet with a realtor we meet at an open house to start the process. We'll probably get preapproved in Feb/March and start looking shortly after that.
3+ bedrooms, 2+ baths (well two places to shower so I guess 1.75+) and a fenced yard. I cannot wait to be able to just let my dog out back during these cold winter days rather than having to bundle up and walk her 4 times a day!
Put an offer in on a short sale last week. The sellers have accepted, now waiting on lender approval. We're prepared to wait a few months for an answer but hope it'll be a few weeks!
Non-negotiables were 3 bedroom 2 bath, decent sized lot, appliances staying, and move-in ready.
Do you have a home to sell?
no.
Where are you in the buying process?
What are the non-negotiable things you're looking for in a new home?been browsing online for years. pre-approved & started looking seriously a few months ago. currently crap inventory in our desired neighborhoods, so we're waiting to see if a few houses we'd be ok with drop or what else will come on the market in the next few months. ready to buy but have no reason to rush except for our own impatience.
location--specific neighborhoods of two cities, 3+ bedrooms, 1.25+ baths.
No, we are first time home buyers.
We are still shopping. We haven't found anything we like. However, I am extremely picky. My justification is if I'm spending this much money on a house it better have everything I want. We hope to make this our forever home.
Must haves: At least a two-car attached garage, basement, four bedroom, at least two baths, 2500-3000 sq. feet. I want something that is a relatively new build,( I don't want to deal with lead paint) that isn't a McMansion or cookie cutter. That's the hard part.
I also refuse to buy a flipped house. Too many flippers I've seen have put cheap stuff inside. No thank you. I'd rather renovate the home myself.
Another first time homebuyer.
We found a house we loved at the beginning of January and we have everything done, just waiting to close on Feb 3rd.
We knew we wanted 3 beds, 2 baths and a nice sized yard.
Do you have a home to sell? Yes. We are already on the market
Where are you in the buying process? Have a few homes that we love, but waiting to get an offer on our house before we can do anything.
What are the non-negotiable things you're looking for in a new home? At least 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, at least 1800 sq ft, and 2 car garage. The only other thing that I really want is a kitchen bigger than what we have now, and to only have to do a few minor updates.
Do you have a home to sell? nope.
Where are you in the buying process? We have a realtor now and meet with him every weekend lately to look at 1-3 houses at a time.
What are the non-negotiable things you're looking for in a new home?
Location - must be near great schools and in a very safe neighborhood.
Must have a 2 or 3 car garage.
Must be mostly move in ready - we don't want to spend our time fixing up a place.
3+ bedrooms. Ideally would have 4 br or 3 br and an office.
At least 2 bathrooms, but I'd prefer 3.
We're undecided about the rest, and still trying to decide what the max we want to pay for a house is. We love to travel, so definitely not so much that we are restricted in taking trips.
We have a home to sell but we have not listed it yet. We're taking the professional pictures this week.
We will close on our new home 2/13 (fingers crossed!!!). We are just dealing with the mortgage stuff right now (everything else is all set).
We required a 3 bedroom and a little bit of outdoor space (we're in an urban area- so it's not always a given). We also wanted it move-in ready (no fixer upper for us).
Do you have a home to sell? Yes, we just went on the market today!
Where are you in the buying process? We have a signed contract to buy a house that is contingent upon us selling our bungalow and closing on it by April 24th. Getting this contract took a lot longer than we thought, from October-January, and they had the house on the market for 2 yrs. What we thought were empty nesters were actually a couple in the middle of an unpleasant divorce.
What are the non-negotiable things you're looking for in a new home? Off street parking, 4 bedrooms, a separate family room and home office space, a fireplace, pre-WWII, no painted woodwork.
