Ulcer Remedies?

Hey ladies,

I'm not sure that one really does exist, but I am asking anyway.  I have 5... yes 5 ulcers in my mouth right now, and 4 of them are in the same location.  Needless to say, I'm in a good deal of pain.  I have the Orabase stuff that numbs it, which works fine, but do you know of any home remedies or ideas that make them go away quicker??

Thanks! :-)

Re: Ulcer Remedies?

  • I wish I knew the name of the stuff my mom used to give us when we were little. She worked for a dentist and he gave her a bottle (I believe it was prescription strength). It was incredible. I'll give her a call and see if she can remember, it may be available over the counter by now!

  • Have you tried sore throat spray? Also look for stuff with lidocaine. It will numb the area.
  • Swish with hydrogen peroxide a few times a day.  It'll take the pain out temporarily.  If you get them frequently, use peroxide every time you brush (after you brush).  It helps regulate the pH of your mouth and prevents them.

  • Peroxyl is awesome. It's in the drugstore next to the mouthwash - its like hydrogen peroxide specifically made for your mouth and it tastes minty. They gave it to me when I had an infection and it healed it within a day or two. I use it for any time I get a cut in my mouth.

This is the OTC stuff that I get too!
