SUPERBOWL

Can you believe the Patriots won that game yesterday?  I was so sure they were going to lose it up until the last second.

How do you feel about the rematch against the Giants?

What do you plan to do for the game?

Who do you think will win?

What was the deal with Steven Tyler standing on stage in view of the camera during the trophy presentation?  I thought he was being a total attention whore.  Fine, hang out on the field, but whyyyyyy do you have to be on the stage?  So unneccessary.

Re: SUPERBOWL

  • Steven Tyler is getting more and more bizarre as he ages. He looks like a melting wax figurine and he's always dressed like he's going to the Mad Hatter's tea party. His anthem was so horrible. He screamed the entire thing.

I'm mostly just excited that we'll be watching the Superbowl in our new house!

Moving day is next Tuesday. One week from tomorrow! I still can't believe it's so soon. It seems like we have been under agreement for so long (which we have), but now it seems like it came up so quickly.
  • Ooo, LadyE, so exciting!  From here it seems like you just bought the house, which I know isn't true but still.  I hope packing is going OK?

That game was crazy.  I think they got really lucky and don't feel like they necessarily earned that win.  But, I'm glad we're going back to the Superbowl!  We'll be watching it at my aunt & uncle's house as they're hosting a Chinese New Year thing for the family that day.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • The game was crazy! I kind of loved Steven Tyler's bedazzled glittery top.

I think we'll probably watch the  game at home... if it started earlier, we'd probably go to my parents house.

I agree. The Ravens lost the game. #29 (Moore) made two great plays at the end to keep the game alive, but the kicker shouldn't have missed the FG and it should have went into overtime. I'm glad it didn't and we won, but I was stunned beyond belief. I was grumbling to DH before the kick that it was essentially an extra point, non-missable distance kick and that overtime rules in the playoffs were different now. My mouth hung open for a while after the kick.

We're going to a friend's place for the SB. I was hoping for SF to win. I don't want to have to hear all about the '07-'08 season SB and Manning all day long.

  • I thought my husband was going to throw up on himself the last minute of that game. He takes his football a bit too seriously sometimes, heh.

I felt badly for that poor kicker from Baltimore. He must feel just terrible today.

My husband and his friend always watch the Super Bowl together at our house. Usually, I watch the Puppy Bowl/movies in the other room, but I'll probably watch at least the last half of this one.

I watch the PuppyBowl too! I love it.
  • The Puppy Bowl is seriously my favorite thing on tv all year. It's just so much fun.

I don't know how I'm going to watch it this year, unless we keep Jack locked in another room.  He comes running from another room to bark at dogs on tv in commercials*, so I don't think he can tolerate 2 hours of puppies.

*Once, we were in the kitchen making dinner, and he was standing at the stove begging. The opening notes of that Travelers (?) commercial where the dog tries to find a place to bury the bone came on, and within 2 seconds of it starting, he was running down the hall to the living room to bark at the tv.  He's too freaking smart for his own good sometimes.

I thought that was bizarre. How much do you think he paid to get front and center like that? Everyone seemed annoyed by his presence.

Who was the chick he was with?

Note: I, in no way, support the NFL or any of the corruption that goes along with it.

I didn't see the trophy presentation, but was it his fiancee

Yes. She's a bit... young.  I cannot imagine having sex with him, rock star or not. Eew.

  • Yeah, if it was on Fox I would have thought that the network was pushing it for American Idol promotion.  But it was CBS.  Just so strange.

To answer my own questions from the OP, I REALLY hope the Patriots win now that the matchup is against the Giants.  I can't handle another Superbowl loss to them.  I'm not sure yet what we'll do for the game, but definitely we will be watching somewhere quiet.  I hate going to Superbowl parties when I actually care about the game itself.  Way too distracting.
