Saturday morning I found myself in the ER. I had a bad Raynaud's episode (circulation issue) on Thursday night where my feet went from numb and white and getting no circulation to warm and swollen with blood blisters in a matter of minutes causing severe pain. Friday after work I went to urgent care and they gave me meds for the issue with instructions that I had another 24 hours for the swelling to go down or I'd have to go to the ER. By Saturday morning the pain was worse and the swelling hadn't subsisded so I went to the ER.
The doctors ended up changing my treatment, including baby aspirin, a calcium channel blocker, Nitroglycerin cream for my lil' piggies and Percocet for pain. Seriously, I think I must be the only person in the world who starts with swollen toes and ends up with a heart attack treatment regimen!
My toes are finally getting better but now I'm lightheaded and suffering from headaches from the medications. I have a Rheumatologist appt set up for tomorrow. The worst part was that I barely studied all weekend and I had to cancel my date for Saturday
He was so sweet and understanding and we ended up talking on the phone all night anyway and met up for dinner to watch the Giants game yesterday ![]()
Re: ER this weekend--Oh noes, my toes!
No, we've been spending time together over the past month but I was going to meet some of his friends at a party.
I hope they change my treatment regimen when I see the doctor though--with these pills I can't walk up stairs without getting winded and dizzy and can't lower my head past my knees without feeling like I'm going to pass out
