I have been wondering what's up with New York having so many pro football teams. They really need to have the Giants, Bills, and the Jets? So many states don't have even one pro team, and yet they get three? Hmph!
I think the Jets' home stadium is actually on the New Jersey side of the state line, if I am not making that up in my head. Why not give the Jets to NJ? Besides, "Jersey Jets" actually has a nice ring to it.
I know that's random, but whatever... it is slow and I have random thoughts today.
Re: s/o football teams
I like that we don't have 'one' team. Iowans tend to split up into: Packers, Chiefs, Vikings.
Of course we have a few weirdo stragglers also.
I've been around avid sports fans all my life, even though I can't get into it.
My brother is an UUBER 49ers fan, this goes waaaay back.
I was talking to him about possibly going to the super bowl to see them (if they won) and I asked him was it going to be hard to root for the 49ers against the Giants because that's another one of his favorite teams. It turns out I was talking about the baseball giants instead of the football giants in NY.
Sports talk fail.
It's not that Jersey doesn't want to claim those teams, it's that those teams don't want to claim Jersey.
The Chefs (great googly moogly) are technically on the Missouri side, but they're just claimed by both states equally. We share around here.
