what was the peak of your day?
what was the pit of your day?

we're having twins!
Re: peak & pit 1-22-12
my peak was relaxing all day. it was lovely. also i found some things i'm buying from etsy for over the couch.
pit- going to ikea to return something and realizing you can't return something without a receipt except once in your life.. at ikea. weird.
Peak: Eating dimsum with friends for chinese NYE
Pit: not working out all weekend and feeling sluggish from it. back to it tomorrow!
Peak - Fun weekend, just took a nap, jogged today AND remembered to track my food!
Pit - I didn't buy any cupcakes at the adorable cupcake shop (I feel like this could be a peak too!)
Peak: Seeing the baby otter at the aquarium - it's seriously cute, yo!
Pit: Not getting as much done as I wanted and our dog is acting strangely listless.
Peak: chillin' w/ the fam, watching football & playing cards
Pit:fighting/bickering w/ DH all morning about stupid stuff and eating too much while watching football
Peak - Oh so many! DH got home late last night and we spent a ton of time together today. Even in the rain we had a little date to the Ballard Market and bought a ton of fresh stuff and he bought me tulips. He also was a gentleman and held an umbrella over me while I chowed down on a hotdog.
He also banned me from the kitchen tonight and made me an amazing dinner.
Pit - it's Sunday. I want a redo of a whole weekend with DH. And it's my BFF's 30th birthday and she's in TX.
Peak: getting to see my cousin, who just came home from what unexpectedly turned into an 18 month deployment in the middle east with the Air Force. He's just so cool. I'm so happy he's home safe.
Pit: the 49ers losing. DH is from northern CA and his team going to the Super Bowl would have been wonderful. But no... the game ended, I looked over to see him and the dog both laying on the living room floor passed out. I asked them what was up and H responded with "we've lost our will to live". Poor guy!

Peak- had a (much needed) relaxing weekend in San Francisco
Pit- H's team (49ers) lost in the playoffs yesterday. The game was rough to watch. And, I felt so bad for H because he's been so stressed from the snow and power outages last week and looking forward to the game, that he almost passed out at the game. Other than the loss, everything ended up ok.
Peak: we got to spend the weekend hanging out with lots of friends, which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise (since we had been planning to go up to Seattle).
Pit: we couldn't go to Seattle because the power was still out up there - I'm not even sure if it's back on yet at my parent's house. Pit x2 was watching DH's team (he's a Ravens fan) lose on a missed FG attempt to the Pats; then watching Alex Smith prove he's actually not that solid of a QB as the 49ers lost again, which meant everyone in SF was really bummed. I was sad because I was going to buy Super Bowl tickets if the Ravens made it. So I guess the 'peak' to this is that I just saved a bunch of $$$. Still, DH responded as some of your husbands did - he was pretty depressed after the Ravens loss, and then the 49ers made it even worse. Especially because both teams easily could have won those games if they'd just not made stupid mistakes.
This doesn't even begin to describe yesterday. I've seen my H cry 4 times since we've been together (when he proposed, when we got married and during 2 family funerals), I seriously though him and the guy sitting next to us were going to start crying in each others arms.
Ha! I thought the same thing about mine after the Ravens loss (which was, admittedly, incredibly stupid - how your ProBowl kicker shanks a 32-yd FG in that situation is beyond me). He was just really, really quiet, then he got up and walked away and I thought he looked like he might cry. I just let him be because I know how I am after a bad UW loss.
I also know he was trying to hide his disappointment because he would complain about how a bad UW loss would wreck my day, so now he didn't want to be the one wrecking our day. Also, I think he was in complete shock at how the last 20 seconds of his game played out.
How long did it take you to get out of the parking lot? I heard it was a 2-hour wait just getting in. And did you get to try any good restaurants in SF? I hope so!
It was a mess. Last fall we took the Muni and it was a million times better. I'm never driving to a game again, but we had to last night because our flight left at 10:45. Anyway, so it took us 2 hours to get to the stadium. We ended up parking a mile away and walked in. Getting out wasn't bad though. I think it took us just under an hour to get from Candlestick to SFO.
We ended up getting sushi here: http://akikosrestaurant.com/ It was pretty decent, I really liked everything we had there.
And then based on Anthony Bourdain's last show in SF I tried going here, but the wait was like 2.5 hours. I'll have to do this at 8am on a Tuesday morning or something http://swanoysterdepotsf.com/
And then we ended up drinking at the Tonga Room and this other place next to Akiko called the Irish Bank.
I really, really want to go back to try the Flour + Water place you suggested.
Your poor H!! Mine is also a 49ers fan and he was crushed. I've never seen him so excited about football, and I've never seen him so bummed about it. It was a heartbreaker of a game to watch
All the rain made it look miserable to be there too! We kept seeing shots through camera lenses covered in rain drops and we felt sorry for anyone who was sitting out in that weather.

I think we lucked out. We could only get the way upper deck seats, but it ended up being a blessing because the over hang saved us from the blowing rain.
There were other people at the game wearing full on hip waders and long rain jackets. It was kind of crazy.
