Anyone still watching Grey's Anatomy?

Gah.  Adele and her Alzheimer's.  Then the big Owen/Christina fight.  Painful.  Zola's really cute though.

Of course. I still love it. The Owen/Christina fight was the worst I think. I think I audibly gasped.

    Me too.  And EVERYBODY heard.

  • I feel like there hasn't been a new episode in a long time.  Now I worry my DVR just isn't picking them up, because some of this sounds unfamiliar.
    image
  • Yeah I'm watching. Owen/Christina are not going to last. All of their fights will come back to the baby thing. Zola is very cute. I feel bad for Meredith having to deal with Adele's rage, even if it's illness induced.

  • And I love Bailey with Dr. Whatshisface. He's hot.

  • Oh yes, I will ditto everything you said. I haven't ever seen Christina/Owen as anything other than disfunctional though.
  • I haven't watched last week's episode yet, but I still really like this show.

I have trouble watching the Alzheimer's scenes.  I'm so afraid of getting it.

Yes, the last two weeks, at least, have been new.

Me too.  They work at as fuuuck buddies because neither need to be in a relationship but watching them try to form a marriage os painful.

Also, to stop suspending disbelief for a moment,  FFS, get an IUD or your tubes tied, Christina. How many unexpected pg are enough for your brilliant doctor self.

  • Richard singing My Funny Valentine to Adele seriously killed me.

This.  And I kind of think it's weird that she's so cute and stuff with Zola.  I mean, duh, your H is going to notice you playing all cute with a kid and be pissed.  You told him you hated kids.

I don't think she ever said she hated kids. She's Zola's godmother. She just said she didn't want one. Her career is more important to her and she doesn't feel she can be the best she can be as a surgeon and a mother.

    I never liked Owen though

Yes.  She's just been clear she does not want children. It is odd to be a godmother though--I guess she means it in the buy birthday presents and not the raise the kid if the parents die way.

I feel badly for both of them.  I don't know what Owen's vision of his future includes but she's been very clear hers does not include kids.   On the other hand, her expecting him to just get over the abortion and not talk about it is unfair too.

  • God, that last scene was heartbreaking.  I love Owen and Christina both, and I want them to work but I just don't think they can.

See I find them both to be pretty arrogant and selfish.

I also hate any time Sandra Oh fake TV cries. It's so contrived that I want to punch her in her face

I don't think the godparent thing really means taking over as parent if you die anymore, to most people. At least here. I've asked around and none of my friends have that as the case in their will. In fact, a lot of godparenting for people I know was more family politcs dictated even. Like, one brother was asked for first child, so second brother had to be asked for second child as to avoid family war, etc.

Christina has always been crystal clear. But, then if you're 100% sure, why not do something medically about it. I know that's a big step but if you'd had two abortions it's something to consider. And yes, expecting him to just be fine is unrealistic, but I like the idea of knowing who you marry. It's your own fault if you marry what you want their potential to be not who they are.

I like to hold a baby here and there, but there is no way in hell I'd have another. I don't even feel a twinge of want when I hold one. I was holding a 3 mo old at a dinner friday night and this girl was all, "Well, that looks pretty good...." and I was like, get over it. I'm not having one. So, I get how Christina can be like that with Meredith's kid but not want one of her own.

  • I think the show has gotten markedly better this season.  I had to force myself to watch for a year or two, but I'm 100% sucked in again.

The fight made me all cringey.  I felt really uncomfortable for everyone there--what an awkward situation for all the random coworkers attending.  And I'm really sad for Owen, because I think he was really holding on to hope that someday she would decide to have a family with him.

  • The Denny years were awful.
    image
  • The Adele breakdown was hard to watch.  My grandma has dementia and is slowing losing her marbles so yeah....it was hard.

I figured that Owen and the baby business would bubble to the surface eventually.  It was sad it had to happen when and where it did with everyone listening.  :-(  Did everyone know about Cristina's baby?  I forget.

The episode where Henry died had me blubbering like an idiot.

I'm really liking this *season because they are diving right in and tackling hard stuff.  It was too namby pamby for a year or two there.

    *eta correct word.

OH HENRY. I loved Noel. I mean Henry. I was bawling like an ass on the treadmill.
  • I was sad to see Henry go, but his death didn't make me cry.  Watching Christina forced to recount his death over and over to Teddy was heartbreaking.
    image
  • I just wish Owen would go away.  I don't like him and I don't like Christina in a relationship.   I wish that Mark and Little Grey would just get together, the going back and forth is awful.

I loved Henry.  They should have kept him and made him a doctor.

When I was little I thought I was/wanted to be black.  My bestfriend was black, she was the only black girl in our school and I wanted to be just like her.  My family used to watch Roseanne and Chief Weber was Dan's friend Chuck. When he would come on I would get all excited and declare that he was my father.  I still love him and him singing to Adele just melted my heart.

No but really I do like them.  Especially Owen.  It could be because I think he's hot (only topped by Avery), but I do like the characters too.

I love them both too. They are hot together in their rawness.  I like Owen because I think he's the least whiny character on the show.

Avery is so effing hot.  I wish they'd get him a romance or even doctor storyline worthy of his hotness.

I just don't find Owen attractive or sexy in any way. I like them pretty and he's way too rugged looking or something for me. I do love some Avery though.
  • Of course! My Thursday nights will be sad times when they get rid of the show... hopefully not any time soon!!!! Owen was crazy to bring it up at the party, but then again I would have been pretty ticked off too. I cried when Adele and the chief were singing to each other... made me think of how hard it must have been for my great grandma to deal with my great grandpa's alzheimer's.

In other news, did you read that katherine heigl wants to go back to the show? I'm not sure how I feel about this. There are so many story lines now, hers has been written out for a long time. And she was kinda a butt to the producers! Hmmm!!! Thoughts, anyone?

  • She just wants to come back for a visit, right?  I could see that.  I liked Izzie before they ruined her with the cheating with George and the whole stupid Denny storyline.
    image
  • Yeah, I think just a visit... but who knows. Yeah that whole George thing got pretty strange. I think they wrote in the script that moodiness she was having about leaving, because you remember how volatile she was towards the end of her stint?

I'm pretty sure it was a case of her thinking she was the new IT Girl and thought she'd be the next big movie star. A little too much confidence and a little too mouthy in the press. Then when it didn't go exactly as planned she wants back in. And the way I heard it as per her interview she just wants back on the show period for whatever length of time they'll give her. I'm not a fan. I liked her before she started saying things like she's not going to put herself in the running for an Emmy because she didn't feel she was given Emmy-worthy writing.
