How was everyone's weekend? Do anything fun?
We went to the Auto show on Saturday and then I spent the remainder of the day making fondant, two cakes, and two batches of rice crispy treats for T's cake.
Sunday was relaxing with just hanging out at home (finishing the cake) and going to church. Church actually sparked an interesting conversation with my ILs that may or may not have made them feel differently about me. My MIL seemed to understand where I was coming from but my FIL defended the church/priest to the end. Then seemed upset that I'd consider doing RCIA and not become Catholic (if church will let me).

Re: How was your weekend?
Friday I grocery shopped after work and got home before it snowed too much. My sister and her husband and two kids came over for dinner.
Saturday- shopping with my sister, mom and 2 cousins. Dinner with my family at my parents house.
Sunday - Church, laundry, cleaning, shooting with DH.
I don't remember Friday night. My guess is we went to bed early.
Saturday I spent majority of the day doing homework/online quizzes/etc. Then DH ran errands and surprised me by buying me Vibram FiveFingers! So naturally we went to the gym to workout.
Then we met up with a couple for dinner, and they came back to our place for dessert, Wii, wine, and Life (the board game). It was a great time! The girl mentioned a few times how much she loved "this kind of night" instead of going out (bars can get expensive!) and I'm so happy she finally feels that way because in the past we fought because I didn't want to go out to bars/clubs. I don't mind bowling, going out to eat, and a bar every now and then but that was her regular Friday/Saturday night routine and I'm glad her mindset has changed.
Yesterday I was busy with more schoolwork and quizzes (and more today, too!) but I went for a half hour walk in the morning before picking up a friend for church. Then DH and I went to his mother's for dinner (Sunday night is pizza night! woo!)
Oh! Ha... I forgot we had date night on Friday night after my ILs arrived.
We went to Gouchos Brazilian Steakhouse. It was GOOD! Expensive but good. Due to the cost, we probably won't go again for a long while, but it was a neat experience. Tested our ability to say no and stop eating when food just kept coming and coming and coming.

Where is this? Maybe DH and I will save up for it... I'd like to try a Bazilian Steakhouse this year!
It was $45/person but it's basically all you can eat buffet. That does not include drinks or dessert. They also come around the table after you're done eating and offer a DELICIOUS shot of something to "aid digestion". We fell for it and got them, sorta thinking maybe it was included but they were $6 a piece and they were NOT a full shot, more like a 1/4 shot!

Friday we went to the Magic Kingdom for half of the day but it was ridiculously crazy. We only went on a few key rides (Peter Pan, Small World, Country Bear Jamboree), had lunch, and then headed out. We had already been to the park twice that week anyways.
Saturday we flew home. We got back at like 3 and then we just laid around the rest of the night.
Sunday morning we took P to urgent care because she had been running a fever since Thursday (it would go away with Motrin). She seemed to be having a hard time walking and was very hesitant to do so. We thought maybe an ear infection causing her to lose her balance. No dice... she seems fine today.
I'll definitely look into! And I don't care about drinks/dessert because if it's all you can eat, I don't want to spoil my appetite with too much to drink and I figure I will consume 4000 calories of food, so dessert is not an option, haha.
I lived vicariously through your Disney updates Alyssa. Hope you had just as much fun as I did hearing about it. lol
Glad Peyton is doing better today. How scary.
Mere - DH has been talking about that place nonstop and how he wants to try it. We'll have to save it for a special occasion because of the $$. But it's good to know that it's highly recommended!
My weekend was very lowkey. DH wasn't feeling well so we stayed put most of the weekend. I also became obsessed with Pinterest which I told myself I never would. Oops!
I found out this morning that my brother spent last night in the ER with gallstones and has to have his gallbladder removed sometime shortly. I found out via his facebook status. Really?! Ugh. Apparently he's ok in the meantime because they have him on some major pain meds. But seriously, keep that shiit off facebook.
Friday night I went to a fundraiser dinner that my boss asked me to attend. It was a nice free dinner, but kind of awkward being there alone and not knowing anyone. But the people at my table were cool. Unfortunately, I then had to drive from Dearborn back to Ann Arbor right after it had snowed 3-4 inches. Everyone was going 35 mph and you couldn't see the lane lines at all, so it was quite the mess.
Saturday I actually had to come into work to finish up crap I didn't get done last week. I thought it would take just 2-3 hours, and it took 7.5. So that really sucked.
Sunday I did a lot of cleaning, made dinner, then watched about 4 hours of TV to catch up on all my shows that I'm behind on, lol. DH was working on his thesis revisions which are due today so I had to entertain myself somehow!
This would annoy me too.
We are already talking about our next trip back.
We are going to put more money towards it and stay at a better resort. We are thinking the Boardwalk in January 2014.
My weekend ended up being busy! I had made this huge plan to just relax all weekend, and we ended up doing all kinds of different things.
Friday: ran errands all afternoon, went for a meeting with some fellow bridesmaid and had a friend over. We were supposed to do a girly night with another one of our friends, but the snow squashed that plan.
Saturday: we slept in (yay!) then we hung out, cleaned and got some laundry done. The only plans I had were to get a mani/pedi with a girlfriend, but we ended up going to dinner at my parents house, then over to his aunts for a poker night. We broke even, but didn't leave until 1am!
Sunday: Got up early, finished some laundry, then went to the Auto Show with another couple! It was a blast! I am glad we went, but I definitely do not feel like I rested at all this weekend.
I had a good weekend. It was pretty relaxing! I went home a little early on Friday to avoid the storm, that ended up not being so bad. DH and I stayed in and watched a movie.
Saturday I ran a few errands and then hung out with DH.
Sunday DH went back to kalamazoo to pick up a few things and I spent the entire day making a baby quilt for a friend! I ended up finishing the entire thing in one day!

Friday night FI and I went to Red Lobster with my mom. Mmmmm...cheddar biscuits.
Saturday and Sunday I was pretty much at the dog show in Novi all week. I had a great weekend. Won the breed with the dog both days, made a cut in the Sporting group on Saturday, and a Group 4 on Sunday. I was thrilled. Back to reality...and a very busy two weeks for work.
Fri: I had worship team rehearsal (instead of the usual Sat. morning), so it was fun driving w/the crazies in the snow
Sat: took way, way too long to make a new dessert, but lesson learned. The dessert was for the evening, Chili cookoff & Square dancing at church, always a fun time!
Sun: church, stayed home the rest of the time doing stuff
