8 Days til We Close! Now what?
We have 8 days left until we close, and 10 until we move into our new home! All of the paperwork and loan information is taken care of and approved, so it's just waiting for the date to come around.
I've already started packing up some of the non-essential things, like our library and games.
All of the utilities are set to transfer to our names when we close.
Change of address has gone in.
U-haul truck is set up to rent that day.
What else would I need to do?

We are also closing in 8 days!
Are you selling or renting now? Since we're selling, we had to contact the oil, electric and water companies to determine what we've used and what our buyer owes us. We made an appointment with the cable company to come.
Otherwise, we're just packing and waiting for next Tuesday.
Exciting! Pre-congratulations
Be prepared for some last-minute papermergencies and document requests. Hopefully everything will go of without a hitch, but know that if it doesn't, this is normal and don't freak out. Everything will work out fine in the end. The day before closing, our underwriter needed us to fax in some bank statements again, and the morning we were supposed to close, the appraisal still wasn't finished so closing got pushed back a couple hours.
We close on the 31st too! I haven't transferred the utilities yet - I was going to wait until Friday or Monday to do that.
I was going to double check that my new Homeowner's Insurance policy is ready to go, and also I think I'm supposed to contact the HOA (not sure what I'm supposed to tell them though - I know my annual HOA dues are behind paid from closing funds).
With only 8 days left... PACK EVERYTHING and literally live out of a suitcase.
Also whatever you do don'tmake any major purchases since your bank will run your credit usually the day of or the day before you close.
