QOTD

Would you stop to pick up a hitch hicker?

It may sound mean, but no. I have no idea what they could be hiding.  Maybe if they were naked, lol! Just Kidding!

Re: QOTD

  • On one hand, I'd like to say no. I never have, and never have been tempted before.

On the other hand, who knows what will come my way, and, godforbid i ever find myself in a position to need to hitch hike, it seems bad karma for me to say no outright...

    Hell to the no!
This. You just really never know about anyone.

My mom stopped for the mentally delayed (I really have no idea what his actual situation is, but he has some kind of mental disability) man who lives in her neighborhood who was walking to the store down the road from their house. He started telling her how pretty she was and how he couldn't believe she stopped for him and going on and on where she got to be uncomfortable. My dad and I told her to never do it again, I think she agrees now.

  • My gut instinct is to say no, but Drew's buddy who serves in the Army has hitch hiked in the past and I would feel terrible not picking him up.

  • I'd rather pull over and give them money for a cab to the nearest bigger city where they might be able to get a bus and actually call the cab for them.  I don't think I could ever actually allow someone I saw on the side of the road into my car.  I just couldn't do it without knowing if they might have a weapon or something.
