Recs for group trip to Caribbean AI?

I am researching for a trip this spring for 4 couples. Since the Ravens lost (sniff, sniff) we are all going to use the money we would have spent going to the Super Bowl on a Caribbean vacation. We are not interested in Mexico, since that's where we went last year. Definitely want an all inclusive, and it needs to have good pool bars since that's where we always hang out. I was thinking Punta Cana, but we are open to anywhere other than Mexico or Antigua (went to Sandals Antigua 2 years ago).

Budget is around $1,000 per person for 4 - 5 nights. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

this spring is pretty open, so probably late April. However we aren't tied to a particular date.

Does the $1000 per person include airfare? Do you all prefer large resorts or smaller boutique resorts? Are you beach people? The Secrets resorts in Jamaica are very nice and have a nice pool bar.

We are doing a group AI trip this spring (late May) and are going to Mexico. We were looking at Punta Cana...I found places for between $1000-1200 for 5 nights. We decided not to do PC because the flight times from Baltimore and Reagan were less than ideal for what we wanted. They are not bad, but just not what we wanted. But if you are flexible, you should look into PC.
