Re: how is everyone doing??

  • i usually let the weekend beat me, but i did SOOO good this weekend. last week, even with the snow, i worked out and ate right! and drank all my water, even with the power outage.. it was harder but i realize that if i want this, i can't keep letting little things get in my way. plus,i'm REALLY sick of losing the same weight over and over again!

this weekend on saturday i did 30ds, went to a 100min zumba class (normally 90 mins) and helped my bil & sil move! sunday my body ached and the only 'exercise' i got was walking around ikea. back at the 30ds this morning and the scale is continuing to creep downwards! pretty excited. my first main goal is so close!

i haven't even been craving bad food.. it's been pretty incredible. the only thing that looked good is pinterest sweets that i keep seeing, and pinning! gotta get some inspiration from somewhere for future baking! :)

anyway, i hope everyone is doing ok, considering the crappy week we had in seattle last week!

  • I don't even want to talk about this right now. The week of snow really screwed up my plan. Then on top of this the next 4 weeks will be, literally, weeks from hell, so I don't know how I'm doing this.

I guess I'll just cut out alcohol and fried foods. Bye french fries Crying

you probably deserve both if the next 4 weeks will be weeks from hell.. just drink lots of water and eat small portions!

  • Okay, quick question for you girls since you might know - what's the recommended daily intake for water?  I've heard from a nutritionist that it's half your body weight (in ounces), and I've also heard that it's equal to your body weight (in ounces).  So which one is right?  Does anyone know?

As for eating - ha.  I did really good in the Dominican Republic, surprisingly enough, because we had a chef who cooked for us every day.  Since I got home I've not had much energy to cook so I've probably done not as good as I should.  I finally start up with a new trainer today and he looks incredible (I've watched him train other people) so I'm hopeful that he'll kill me during our sessions.  I'm mainly just focused on toning everything up.  I honestly don't even own a scale because I think I'd become too obsessive if I did.

  • i drink atleast half of my weight in ounces of water. i'd do that if you can drink it. :) it's a good amount.. if half of your weight isn't 64, then make sure to drink atleast 64oz.

you had a chef cook for you personally in the dr? dang! you're baller status?

good luck today with your trainer! what gym do you work out at?

  • We somehow managed to resist the urge to run across the street for takeout during the snow last week, and I don't think I messed up *too* bad over the weekend. I did make a pretty heavy dinner on Friday night when our friends came over and my grandma begged for PF Chang's when I took her out shopping on Saturday, but I didn't overeat at either meal.

I didn't get a workout in Thursday, Friday or yesterday. Our gym kept closing early with the snow, and a lot of the roads around it were also closed. The sidewalks have been covered in slush all weekend so I haven't ventured out for a run. Maybe today, if I can get out of work at a decent hour.

I have no idea what kind of a number is coming tomorrow, but I'm hoping for the best!

Ha, no, not at all!  The Dominican Republic is just *extremely* cheap.  We were there for a week with 24 other people (so 26 total).  We rented this 16 bedroom, 18 bathroom house that was something like 21,000 square feet.  It was beachfront with it's own private pool and hot tub.  Sean Penn was staying two houses down from us.

The house was $12,000 for the entire week and that's during the high season.  The chef was $500 additional (plus the cost of groceries).  It was just dirt cheap when split between 26 people (came out to about $20 a person - I would HAPPILY pay $20 a week to have someone cook me breakfast, lunch, and dinner!).  :)

On the flip side, though, two of the guests in our group got held up at gun point while getting to the house from the airport, every ATM had a "guard" there with a double-barrel shotgun to "protect" you while you withdrew money, and we had a police escort to this beach we wanted to go to because apparently if the police don't go along, you end up getting robbed and left stranded by "pirates" (the beach was only accessible by boat, so these pirates would come up with their guns, come ashore, take all your stuff, and then take the boat apparently).  So, there were pluses and minuses to the DR, and there was a reason it was so cheap (we weren't at one of the typical resorts).

As for which gym I work out at - it's a World Gym in San Francisco.  It's adequate.  It has a zumba class that I keep consider signing up for... but then I think I'm such a bad dancer that I'd just embarrass myself.  However, you and kinmir mention it so much that I'm really tempted... it just seems like a fun way to actually exercise.

This is me, too, and I am so irritated that I let my routine change throw me so far off track. I honestly can't even get on the scale right now. BUT, today is the day I get back on track. Good luck to us all.

  • Yeah, I indulged a lot during the locked in the house/snow/ice storm.  But, I'm at the same weight as b/f, but that was up 2 lbs from the week before.  Not great, not terrible.
