Bad baby name from my local paper.
Re: Bad baby name from my local paper.
I can't even come up with a witty joke for that one.

I'm stuck on how to pronounce it. Where's the emphasis? De-FINEST? DEF-inest?
And is that a long i or a short i? De-FINE-est? DEF-innest?
My best guess would be Da-finest.
Sister's name is Adorable.
Please tell me you are making this up. PLEASE.
I wish I was.
...Shortly before 1 a.m., Jones pulled down 3-year-old Adorable R_____ and shielded her as bullets shattered a window, R_____ said her 10-year-old son told her.
Several bullets hit Jones in the chest and neck. Police said Adorable R_____ was injured by flying glass but a hospital report that the family provided said she suffered a gunshot wound. Her family said her right arm was grazed by a bullet.
The child?s 2-year-old brother, Definest R_____, was hit in the right cheek by shattered glass, his family said.
Da Finest! I get it! HA!!

We miss you and love you always, little firecrackers!
You know, it sounds horrible, but the people I imagined giving their children these names are exactly the parents I imagine engaging in a gun battle with their toddlers at 1 a.m.
If that was my name, I'd insist on being called Dee.
Skip to the chase and call me Fine.
yes you're right. it does sound horrible. How can what someone names their child cause you to think that the parents would engage in a gun fight?
well hmmm..from the part of the article that OP posted...it didnt suggest that the parents shot back. its said they shielded the child from the bullets. such idiots.
anyone could get shot at. no matter where you go.
Ding ding ding!
Sweet Fukking Christ.
Exactly. And you're right, anyone can theoretically get shot. But at 1 a.m., my kids are sleeping in their beds, not sitting in an idling van outside a house presumably in a dangerous neighborhood with a man they happened to pick up off the streets to give a ride to. And the kids' cousin, a 20-month old toddler, was killed by gunfire during a previous instance while he was strapped in his carseat in an idling car, presumably in a bad neighborhood. That one was a gang fight. So yeah, idiots.
Anyone? Sure.
Anywhere? Eh. Not so much. I suppose it's possible, but it's not probable. You're one of those people that are worried about contracting HIV from an elevator button that someone may have touched yesterday with a cut on their finger, aren't you? The risk is just not the same in all locations.
yes anywhere...I had a friend who was shot at/around a school playground. I wouldnt even say it was a bad area. He was walking home from work and he was shot and killed. Nothing that I know of provoked it either.
and no I'm far from being one of those people who think you can get HIV from an elevator button. I'm not "scared" of things happening. I just know that random bad things DO happen..and you cant say that someones name leads you to think that that they are the "type" of person to be in a situation.
