Hey everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was good, but yesterday my stomach was in knots from stressing about my interview today. I had the interview this morning, and it went really well! I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I get the position!
Please feel free to post any random thoughts for the day.
Re: Monday random thoughts
Interviews are so nerve wracking! And on a Monday nonetheless.
My randoms are that I'm obsessed with the cooking site skinnytaste and can't wait to try more of their recipes.
I'm also really glad I got the best parking spot in the lot this morning.
Hey you did say random:)
Hope your interview went well!
My weekend was good...pretty low-key. Stayed in with BF Friday night and Saturday day, then we went to a dance Saturday night. Breakfasted with friends on Sunday morning, and I forced him to watch football with me Sunday afternoon. Dance classes Sunday night.
My random is that it's freezing cold at work today...I have my winter coat on and a cardigan on my lap, and I'm only just barely comfortable. I have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism (including being tired and cold all the time), but my thyroid levels always come back normal in the tests, so no one will treat me for it.
Other random (also sort of having to do with hypothyroidism)...I've been really watching what I eat, and I thought I had successfully dropped the weight that I put on at Xmas (not a lot), since my clothes seem to be fitting better, but the scale hasn't budged a single notch. So now I'm wondering if it's all in my head that the clothes are fitting better. Boo.
I wouldn't pay attention to the scale. Depending on what time you weighed yourself, how much food was in your stomach etc., it can vary so much. Have you tried measuring yourself instead?
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
My random is that I think I accidently found a new diet plan. I started taking Xanax to help with my stress level and anxiety. I can still function during the day one it but it just mellows me out. The upside to taking it is that it suppressed my appetite quite a bit. I've got absolutely no tast or desire for food outside of 3 small meals. I couldn't even go in for seconds on dinner last night. It was weird because I really wanted it yet my stomach was screaming full from just my 1 portion.
From What I've read from a few weightloss books, measuring is the best way to tell if you're losing weight not the scale.
I do have a measuring tape...I don't have any "before" measurements, but at least I can do that from here on out. I do weigh myself first thing in the morning after having gone to the bathroom and before I've eaten/drank anything...I've read that that's when you'll get the most consistent weight.
I hope the interview went well!! Sounds like it did.
I moved ... all weekend. By lat night we were just beat. We did go out to a nice dinner both Friday night and Saturday night and when I got there Friday night, bf yelled, "Welcome HOME!!" Then he toasted to our future at dinner -- and since he is not a romantic by any stretch of the imagination, that was a big deal for him. It was sweet.
Glad you are back Haines. My randoms:
After coaching my son's soccer team in fall and filling in this past saturday for his basketball team, I have a newfound respect for kindegarten teachers...lol. Not easy getting ten 4/5 yr olds to listen all at once or stay focused.
I hate snow
I hate cold
Bought a crock pot a couple weeks ago and been experimenting ever since. Made a roast to die for and all of a sudden I am thinking I am the male Martha Stewart.
Good luck Haines! I posted about my weekend in my "toes" post. It wasn't a good weekend but I did get to hang out with the cowboy.
I might be planning a trip to TX after the Bar. The cowboy is doing business during the week there so I might meet him for a weekend getaway!
I thought for a minute last week that I might not hate my job so much. After today, I realize I still hate it.
My weekend was overall pretty good. I went hiking with my dog on Saturday, then went to a friend's engagement party. Then spent most of yesterday reading/cleaning/watching TV.
For my random - why do people think they should have outdoor cats? First, if you want a pet, why wouldn't you want them in the house with you. Second, if you have the desire to have them outside all the time, get the dang thing spayed/neutered. A cat in heat is seriously the worst sound in the world and I've had the pleasure of listening to it for the last 3 days!
Oh and my other thought...it is so much easier to just be single than to slowly start dating someone you have feelings for. Especially if you aren't positive where the other party's feelings lie.
Ditto! Have you seen an endocrinologist? Have you been tested for your T3 and T4 levels? T4 is the one that is traditionally tested and that is just your thyroid stimulating hormone. T3 is the amount of thyroid hormone you have in your body. I've had my T4 in the normal range, but my T3 wasn't in the 'normal' range so I ended up having to take T3 in addition to the T4.
I have not seen an endocrinologist. Every pediatrician (this has been going on since high school or before) or PCP I've seen has sent me for a complete thyroid test, including both T3 and T4, and they all come back in the normal range, so they have decided that it must just be because I'm a girl that I'm cold and I don't sleep enough (I do) that I'm tired and haven't referred me to an endocrinologist. I actually know my current PCP outside of her work, so perhaps she will be more receptive if I keep pestering her about it. Thyroid issues run in my family, too. My sister is the opposite of me--her thyroid levels test low, but she doesn't have any of the symptoms!
I know it's too soon, but I want to go on a date. I haven't been on a date since I was 16, and I want to see what it's like to date as an adult.
I just ordered Codependent No More, and I'm really anxious to start reading.
I LOVE my counselor and feel so lucky that I found someone that works for me on my first try.
