Those of you who went on a babymoon at what point in your pregnancy did you go? I know everyone says 2nd trimester is the best time to go, but I'm a teacher, so by the time I have time off (summer) I will be at the beginning of my 3rd trimester and I'm wondering if I'll be too miserable to go (I realize depending on how things proceed my doctor may say no anyway).

Re: babymoon timing
I just wanted to say Congrats!
I'm guessing it depends on you. I would be okay with going somewhere at the beginning of my 3rd tri for a 1st pregnancy. Plus, there is the mental factor of being done with work for the summer that always lends an extra air of relaxation to any vacation
I would definitely opt for beginning of 3rd tri if moving it up meant taking days off since I find doing multi-day sub plans a huge PITA and then basically need a vacation just to recover from having to make them!
We're going over Spring Break. I'm a teacher, too, but waiting until June is way too late since I'm due in early July! I'll be 23 1/2 weeks when we go on our last vacation before baby.
We went to Florida when I was about 25 weeks pregnant and had a great time. I was past the morning sickness, but not uncomfortable at that point. It was the perfect time to go for us, and we had a really nice time just relaxing and enjoying each other's company.
Congrats on your pregnancy!
We're going next week on ours. I'll be in my 21st week. Part of me is a little nervous to go as we'll be in a different country and/or on a cruiseship for 9 days. Hopefully nothing will go wrong, but I've had a fairly easy pregnancy so far *knock on wood* other than some round ligament pains.
1st Trimester was rough as I was so sleepy! And I think 3rd might be really uncomfortable if you're driving/flying anywhere. So I'd stick with the 2nd Tri if you can.
We had our babymoon planned for 14 weeks and had to cancel two days before leaving due to some unexpected complications (daily bleeding that lasted for 3 weeks). Around 25 weeks everything had looked good for awhile so we rescheduled our trip for 30 weeks.
We went to Hawaii from Wisconsin last week and had no issues at all. I did fine on the flights and our time in Hawaii was wonderful and super relaxing. We went with the intention of doing nothing at all and it was perfect-if you are going on an active trip I would have wanted to go earlier.
My personal tips 1) Make sure you buy trip insurance or that everything is cancelable-we would have been out lots of money if we hadn't done this. 2) Don't plan your dream trip-we travel a lot and have been to Hawaii and I was still disappointed when we had to cancel our trip. I can't imagine how I would have felt if it had been one of our dream trip locations.
My doctor OK's international travel to 35 weeks and travel in the US to 36 weeks. I personally didn't feel comfortable leaving the US due to language barriers, but that was just a personal decision.
