Secrets resorts in Jamaica

DH and I are going on vacation this December and have it narrowed down to Secrets St. James and Secrets Wild Orchids. Anyone have any reviews good or bad about either? Thanks!

Re: Secrets resorts in Jamaica

  • Our friends recently stayed at Secrets St. James and loved it. The four of us had previously stayed at Secrets Silversands in Mexico (which we all really liked), and she said St. James was better than Silversands. She said you have access to the restaurants, pools, etc. at both resorts, so really the only difference is if you have a strong preference on how your room is decorated. So I would just go with whichever is cheaper if that doesn't matter to you.
  • We stayed at Secrets St James last year. St James and wild Orchid is basically the exact same resort on the same property and you can walk back and forth to either. They both have access to the exact same restaurants. The difference is that Wild Orchid is slightly closer to the restaurants and St James is closer to the spa. The rooms are the same size with slightly different decor. It probably took us an extra two to three minutes to walk to the restaurants from the St James side.

We had a great time and I would definitely recommend the hotel. We actually loved it so much that we prolonged our trip and decided to stay an extra 4 days at Couples Swept Away in Negril. It was like going on a completely separate vacation! the difference between the Couples hotel and Secrets is that Couples had more activities included in the price such as snorkeling out to the reef, sunset cruise, dunns river falls trip etc. Not that we missed that at Secrets since we mostly just sat on the beach or went to the mulitiple pools there.
