so did i tell you guys about how i asked my job about short term disability last year? and they freaked out and told me that if i was trying i needed to tell them and pregnancy is hard and you need to save x amount of money and you could potentially be on bed rest for the whole thing?? (i knw all of these things and they have NO idea how much money i have saved or what my plan is.. it was rude)
anyway, this happened.. they freaked out! it irritated me because i thought it was rude, i'm not going to tell you that me and my husband are actively having sex to try to get pregnant.. hell no.
anyway, cut to today, there was a lil guy here who LOVES me. i'm his favorite. anyway we were saying hi to people and one of the owner's kids (who is taking over the company) said "we need another baby around here, sarack!!!" on of the owners was in there and kinda agreed... lol.
if they thought/knew i was trying, they'd probably ask me to let them know when i was ovulating..
i just thought it was weird, what a difference a year makes. it was literally this time last year that i talked to them about it.. or maybe the owner that originally said all that stuff to me was trying to be nice?
Re: s/o pregnancy, rant sorta
Hmm that is really weird. I'm sure they were trying to be nice but that it was a super rude...
Peoples filters and pregnat ladies (or trying to get knocked up ladies) seem to be lost...
and to think, we're not trying currently, in most part because i don't want to leave my company high and dry during busy season.. now planning TTC around a job is pretty incredible in my opinion.. and i think i might be losing it.
What strikes me as totally odd is - couldn't all those comments be construed as harassment in a way? I mean, even if they're trying to be nice / helpful, that's still really awkward to ask your employees to reveal something so personal. Not to mention it's totally illegal to ask that in a job interview, so I can't imagine it's any MORE legal to ask your employee to disclose that once they're employed.
You should start a blog. With all the nitty-gritty details. And e-mail it to your boss. Ask, and ye shall receive (TMI).
hehehe. this.
i'm sure they were trying to be helpful, but in a backwards way. it's nobody's business that you are trying (except seattle nesties. it's 100 percent seattle nestie's business when you're ttc)

dying at this! such a gooood idea, i'll leave them in their offices.. not where i can smell them. maybe i'll hide them.
also, i'm not sure if once we're officially trying i'll be telling everyone, because people lurk.. but a few of you will definitely know. and i probably won't be putting it on fb. ever.
If you see me creeping around your building, just ignore me and go about your business.
That is super weird and awkward! Reminds me of one of my old managers, who would turn all of our one-on-ones into lectures on how to raise my (as-yet non-existent and TTA to boot!) kids "right" per her (very religious) morals.
:P Here's hoping they don't want you to, like, post up your HPTs on the bulletin boards!
No point trying to plan around busy season...you have no idea how long it will take. When you're ready, throw out the bc and go to town. Whenever it happens, it happens.
Weeeiiiirrrd!! It's like they tried to overcompensate for their reaction last year or something haha.
I had a work party where kids came up in conversation because almost everyone I work with is either newly married or about to get married, and my manager started joking that we were going to have to set up a calendar of when we can each ttc so he isn't missing almost all of his staff at the same time hahaha.

Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
this could be.. but since i know them well, i think last year she just didn't want me to be trying to have a baby because it would directly coincide with our busy season... and i'm positive they want me here for that. i also think that they were just being rude and trying to scare me into not trying..
when i got my promotion, they made a point to tell me that this is a long term position that can be very demanding.. the girl before me was told she wasn't allowed to have children for atleast 2 years.. which i KNOW is illegal.. i think that littlel ine about it being long term position meant, don't have kids and it up.
