Recommend a BYOB

Looking for a BYOB in Philly for my birthday dinner. No Asian or Mexican (my parent's don't like those cuisines).  Nice, but not wildly expensive.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Re: Recommend a BYOB

  • If you are open to places outside of Philly, Sycamore in Lansdowne is a huge fave of mine. Eagles likes it there too!

  • If you like italian, cucina forte is my favorite. It's a really small BYO in the italian market area (on 8th Street near Catherine).

Sycamore in Lansdowne is on my list after it being recommended on here several times.

  • I'm going to hold onto Sycamore for the future. My parents are coming from Central NJ, and we usually eat in New Hope. Trying to mix it up this year.

  • There's a little place on Pine between 13th and 14th called Valentino's that I love.  I've been several times and have always had a good meal.

  • Fairmount Shout Out:

New Place: Hickory Lane (DH and I had brunch here last weekend)

    Old Place: Figs (Moroccan flair)

    Thai Place: Trio

Also, I don't think it's BYOB but La Calaca Feliz opens this week in Illuminaire's old spot on Fairmount Ave across from the CVS.  I see myself drinking many margaritas in their beautiful garden this summer. I'm just about DYING of awesomeness of having Mexican in my 'hood, finally.
