Re: clicky: do you take a lunch break?
If I'm in my office, even with the door shut, they think I'm fair game.
If I want a true break I must leave the building.
I hope this changes in 2 weeks when I'm at my new job!
SS, some days I can and some days it just doesn't happen. I really like to take at least 15-20 minutes to get up, preferably go outside, and get food or even just an iced tea at Starbucks if I did bring my lunch. I'm much more productive if I get up, walk around, clear my head, etc. H works 2 blocks from me, so if we can coordinate our schedules we'll get lunch together.
But, more often than not I work through lunch. I don't like to, but it's what happens.

this is true for me too!
I love living on the eastside. I get an hour lunch and I get to run home eat, relax and go back to work with time to spare.
my h does this too. but everyone on his team is our-aged (22-32, i think) so they are all very close. they hang out weekends too. and by "they", i mean "they", plus all the wives/husbands/boyfriends/girlfriends.... it bugs me how close they all are, and sometimes i want my own time, but i'm usually the one "other" that doesn't go...so i try to make an effort.
