So I skimmed your cupcake posts I did not read every response....but if you ladies were thinking about doing a GTG (I do not know your rules on these things) BUT couldn't you just do your own cupcake party? Have everyone bring one kind of unfrosted cupakes and one topping meet at some location, swap flavors use different toppings, walk away with lots of different cupcakes and a good time? I think this may be a future girls night for me.... It would be way more cost effective that $10/cupcake.
Now I want cupcakes.

Re: Cupcakes continued
Cupcakes aren't about being cost effective.
I spent more money on cupcakes for my wedding than I did my wedding dress.
i was wondering how much you spent on those!
cupcakes are super expensive. i've been trying to master a good cupcake. i think i make a few really delicious ones.. i still want to make a vanilla frosting that is to die for.. someday...
oh me too, i didn't add that?? i love that idea!!! i wish my friends wanted to bake more often!
I thought about this, but didn't know if our place would work. I bet we could find somewhere though!
Hehe, I'm just crazy about cupcakes. You shouldn't even listen to me.
See? I'll let you guess which one I am.
*poof*
while i don't disagree that uw is crazy about cupcakes....and (and is obviously wearing the donut chain in that video), i don't think this is a fair assessment. uwhusky had like seventybillion people at her wedding. of *course* she needed to spend that much money on cupcakes.
my cake was $100 shy of the cost of my dress....

who says you can only wear your wedding dress once?
honeymoon bio ♥ married bio ♥ planning bio
jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
Well I'm glad you ladies like the idea. Cupcakes are amazing. I did not have them at my wedding though we just had a cake that was 1/3 the cost of my dress. Small wedding. :-)
Well, I'm up for both ;0) I LOVE Cupcake Royale...and now I wish I had thought of their sprinkles party to do as a birthday thing since I didn't have a good birthday this year.
How much space do you think we would need for this kind of GTG if we had it at someone's home? I think my house might suffice...
Sarack - what about the CR vanilla buttercream recipe?
Heh, our cake was ~3x the cost of my dress, not including alterations (but more than dress+alterations by about half again as much). :X But, uh, totally worth it.
