Freaking Starrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrving

Girls, I'm starving.  I started my new diet today and I am so so so hungry.  I know it's like detox considering how many calories a day I had been taking in but jesus.  I am a total crank.  I already bit Jim's head off twice tonight.

I am hoping in a few days i'll get used to it and adjust (I mean, you eat 6 times a day, so you eat it's just not as much as I was used to eating, kwim?)

Re: Freaking Starrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrving

  • Ugh, that is the worst! Hang in there, Megan. Hopefully, you will adjust in the next few days.
  • I am right there with you!!!!

Mike has been an eating fool and it's p*ssing me off. He's had Chipotle w/ chips in front of me ... and tonight he's eating the most delicious smelling Spicy Italian sub on Italian herbs and cheese bread ...

I've had oatmeal, yogart and noodles.

Be a b*tch, it's your right as a hungry girl.

  • Chug water!  Then chug it again!  Trick yourself into feeling full!

I totally know the feeling.  That first week when I cut out carbs feels that way-I could eat anything, I was so hungry.  But it WILL go away.  You can do it!

  • Ugh, those first few days when your stomach is shrinking Suuuuck. With a capital S. And 4 u's.

Hang in there. Cass is right - lots of water and tea will help a little.  And read as much motivational stuff as you can get your hands on. Pinterest it up! That sometimes helps my hunger disappear.

My MIL did Medifast (or something very similar - she had a couple shakes and 1 bar per day). Her will power was amazing - she'd come out to dinner with people and tell the waitress she'd already had dinner, and was just joining the group to hang out. She'd order tea with lemon and that's it. Incredible. Also incredible? She lost about 90 lbs in 3 months.

I'm the same way when I start up South Beach.  I could rip someone's face off for an Oreo.  Water does help a little.  For me, I loved hot chicken broth (only 10 calories if you make it from a boullion cube!)  on the days I felt like I would cry from hunger. You can do it-- just remember all the good reasons you have for starting up today.  A huge part of dieting (for me at least) is psychological.  Hang in there!

  • Hang in there, you can get through it!

I agree about chugging water. Literally, just drink like 30 oz. as fast as you can. It'll at least get your stomach to stop growling.

Does chewing gum do anything for you? That's what I used to do when I was on WW and was out of points.

  • Hang in there, you can do it!!!!!!!
